Great show, except for the ocean fudd. Laughing smiley face. It sounds like there is a misunderstanding about how Tides' PPLNS payout system works or bad luck during the time of the comparison.

If you look at the blocks, Ocean Mines, they are getting basically the same fees revenue as blocks near them in the time chain. My guess is that you're failing to mention slash realize that if you turn off your machines at Ocean, you will continue to get PQIs, whatever that is, for like 8 blocks. That is likely the missing 200,000 sats.

for reasons because I want you to get on Lens and and look back historically. Do the 1 month. Do a 6 month. Map everything out. Look at hash value and hash price

last month, month before, a year ago. Understand that you're gonna go through highs and lows. You're gonna feel pain. You're gonna have to figure out a way to pay a massive electricity bill for a certain period of time.

I know everybody thinks, Oh, well, well, what I'm doing here is I'm just trading my electricity bill instead of DCA ing. Alright. The core of statism is about worshiping and believing in the institution of the state. If 2 parties have some sort of dealing, there must be a 3rd party participating in order to tax and regulate the transaction

in order to make it safe. Permissioned commerce is entirely necessary, or there would be anarchy. In order to accomplish this, there needs to be an erosion of privacy so that there too can be a restriction of speech.

Speech must be regulated under the guise of free speech in order to bolster strong state ran institutions. We must cast our critics of the state and create environments like heavily moderated social media platforms, podcasts, and conferences in order to create official approved narratives.

causing the dollar to decline, driving up demand for Bitcoin, and so on and so forth. Like, somehow, an increase in Bitcoin price is going to cause inflation to go up, and it's gonna start this terrible cycle of energy use and increased energy prices.

Yeah. Obviously. Well, not obviously.

I'm on his side. Fuck this Bitcoin stuff. People. You know, the that that particular FUD drives me nuts. It's like you you have no understanding of human existence

from here to our entire history. If Bitcoin mining causes an increase in energy use, guess what? We're going to increase the amount of energy that we output. If mining becomes too competitive with a difficulty adjustment, guess what? People are gonna fall out of the mining space

and reduce the amount of energy usage, or they're going to move. Fucking air. It's like this guy has never read Ludwig von Miesse's Human Action.

Do you know what I mean? He's never just had, like, a light read of that fucking monster. Not into Austrian economics?

Obviously not. Troy Cross responded with something that he laid out on the podcast that we did with he and Baseload, and that Bitcoin miners are just going to chase the cheapest forms of electricity.

It's that simple. If you price Bitcoin miners out of the energy market for whatever reason, there are a number of reasons they could be priced out, but they're just gonna move. They're just gonna do something else, Then difficulty is gonna drop. There's so many more moving pieces here than what he understands in his very basic analysis

of Bitcoin mining. Well, he didn't even do any analysis of Bitcoin mining. He just thought of something and typed it out. Yeah. Really interesting. I don't have much to say on that. No. There's always gonna be some silly cunt writing something stupid on Twitter.

That's my point in including this in the show is just be ready to have these talks with people. No. Don't. Say stupid stuff like this. Don't don't even bother. Don't even Don't even bother. Your don't even waste your time. Just say, yeah. That's a good point, actually. I'm gonna settle my Bitcoin.

I wanna tell you a story of a guy that I met the other day, but it's more than I want to reveal about things that boring story. Yeah. It's boring, so I won't tell it. Really? Met with this guy the other day for something that was sort of Bitcoin y. Okay. And I'm explaining Bitcoin to him because this thing,

I can't tell the story in this way. You can't tell the story. I I I think that You know you know the story. Right? Yeah. Okay. You can't tell the story. I can't tell the story. I could tell this the human side of this. Okay. As I'm talking about Bitcoin, this guy's eyes are lighting up.

Like, you see him making the connections on everything. Mhmm. How Bitcoin relates to his real life. Mhmm. Everything I said just weaved in with this guy, and you could see the lights going off. I don't orange pill people a lot, mainly because I I don't have the opportunity to Mhmm. Most of my social interaction is with other Bitcoiners.

Yes. And then the the people in my life, they they already kinda know all about it. But it was a very pleasurable experience to see the lights going off in this guy's head. And now we might be moving on to, how should I say this, Max?

You know the story. So Yeah. I'm saying nothing. I'm saying nothing. No. Yeah. I'm saying nothing. It's just neat. Yeah. And I I don't know. Don't avoid talking about this stuff to people.

Just avoid talking just choose very wisely and carefully who you speak to about it. Because in my experience, it's normally either completely fucking pointless or you're putting yourself out there as a Bitcoiner. And I've had it before where

people that you might have mentioned it to 5, 6, 7 years ago, then suddenly are asking you questions, and they might make assumptions that you have it. And maybe these people are a bit fucking retarded, or they got loud mouths or whatever else. And quite often, I just think, oh, I wish I'd have never said anything.

So just think about it is maybe what I would say. Don't avoid speaking about it necessarily, but just think, a, do I really like this person? Do they deserve to be part of this thing? And, b, are they a fucking retard, or are they gonna understand it? Is this gonna be a massive waste of my energy and time?

And then make your decision. Don't just go, oh my god. Bitcoin is fucking amazing. Maybe Tony is gonna save the world.

Don't do that. Mhmm. Don't do that. That's what I'll say. Alright. So I I will counter that. And I wasn't talking about Bitcoin in the hopium

think boy kind of way. That's why I like mining because when you you know, I wasn't talking about human freedom and sovereignty and the fiat dollar and the Mhmm. And the, you know, cut financial system and how it's all crashing.

I was talking about energy. At some one point, I I feel like I was just channeling baseload, just regurgitating all of this base load material that I have ingested over the past couple years.

And he got it. And that was really exciting because when you start talking about energy and Bitcoin mining to people, you really just see them glaze over.

But he got it all, and I just wanted to share that with everybody because it was exciting. I think when you you talk about mining we've mentioned this on the show before in different conversations with people.

I remember talking to Bing Bong about it on that interview that I drove to his house

here in Pennsylvania, and we had that conversation about once you have something built, you can then show other builders what you built, and then they get excited about it. It's easier to explain that to somebody. If you're doing construction and you just framed up a house

and you bring in somebody else who's in the trades, they can understand, you know, why you framed the house up like that. They get it. So, yeah, the think point hopium stuff trying to present that to normies, that probably doesn't work. Mhmm. But if you found somebody who's like a blue collar person yourself thinks in that way Yep.

The the mining will sometimes click with them.

Conversations around Bitcoin that I've ever had are not with finance guys or business y guys or investment guys or any of that side of life. It is always plumbers, builders, welders, blue collar Mhmm. People who deal with cash.

I can have, like, 5 minute conversation

with someone who's in a trade who deals with cash, and they get it or not everyone, but a higher way higher proportion of people will get it within 5, 10 minute conversation than trying to sit for an hour with a supposed to be smart fucking banker or whatever.

They do not get it. Mhmm. They're the types who are a fucking waste of time. So there's definitely, for whatever reason,

more blue collar, get it more. Maybe because they get fucked by the state more. Maybe because they deal with cash more. I'm not sure exact maybe it's because they're just a little bit more tuned in to, like, the real way of life and that things are a bit tougher. Like, maybe some of these bankers, their feet don't touch the ground,

I think, maybe. Mhmm. It might have something to do with that. Sure. Politicians do. And so with them, I'm like, yeah. Exactly. I mean, I don't really speak to politicians, but I speak to enough bankers and people in that sort of world. And fuck me. These guys are stupid. They really are. That's it. Starting to see more AI

coming into the energy market. AI and data centers in the mind of electricity operators and deliverers are about the same as Bitcoin miners to them, but they're very different. AI consumes energy in a different way than a data center does in a different way that

Bitcoin miners do. So Baseload has written an article that will be on ungovernablemisfits.com, the full content. In this article, Baseload attempts to broaden the spectrum of the types of electricity consumers like AI, data centers, Bitcoin miners, he cites an article that stated the volume of electricity needed for artificial intelligence remains unclear, but appears the technology will lead to a significant net increase in US power consumption.

Unclear, you say. Thus, a lot of the projections are speculations, because even artificial intelligence does not report all of the electricity consumption data to a certain government agency

or Amazon down to a tenth of a kilowatt hour. Wait a minute. Check out this growth for data centers that they show in the references. And if you go to ungovernablemisfits.com

and scroll down to the bottom of this article, you will find some very well sourced references that Baseload has included in the article. It continues on. He says, for the planned data centers in the US electricity markets, the article projected the amount of expected megawatts is 30,694

megawatts, and the investor owned utility can supply the capacity of 20,000. It was 30,000 that they expect, and investor owned utilities can supply 20,000

megawatts of that. He says, well, I guess they can't meet the demand. Let's keep looking. As an example, Dominion Energy in Virginia currently serves the largest market of collective data centers, and its electricity demand inside of its distribution network increased by 500%

from 2013 to 2022. There are plenty of big name data centers that are posted up there, and that makes me think, well, in Virginia, why are there a bunch of big name data centers in Dominion Energy?

I'll have to ask Basel, does that include Washington DC? Because Washington DC and the surrounding areas I wonder why there are a lot of data centers. The data center growth is to the tune of 81 data centers that have a combined capacity of 35 100 megawatts. And he says, hey. That's just one investor owned utility in Virginia

in the US out of approximately 3,000 total electric utilities in the United States. So what that tells me in this article

is that they will meet the demand of data center growth. They'll build it out. If you build it, they will come. It's a good juxtaposition to this energy FUD tweet that we just talked about. You have a demand. They will build it. Just like anything, if somebody wants more cars, what do you do? We build them.

Pacelow goes on in the article to explain just one AI type machine, and that is in Tennessee at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He says it's the largest computer. I mean, it's named the Frontier.

It takes a substantial amount of energy to support such feats. About 40 megawatts of power is fed into Oak Ridge's building that hold it holds its multiple data centers. They've moved beyond the scale of a single suburban power station. They say they are now at the scale of sorts of 2 of those

suburban power stations at the Oak Ridge's director of science. The frontier itself consumes 29 megawatts of power running at full bore. 29 megawatts isn't huge in the scope of Bitcoin mining. But it is for AI? Is that what you're saying? Yeah. I think the point of this is it's hard to determine

what AI's energy usage is at this point. Mhmm. Okay. For Bitcoin mining, it's easy. You have energy usage. You have your current hash rate. You have your profitability. You have all these statistics that we talk about. Yeah. And in a way, it's almost easier to figure out than trying to project what the growth of AI is. Mhmm.

Some of these AI data centers are doing heat reuse

applications, which is is nice to see. There are suburban homes and areas around some of these data centers that use the waste heat. I like that. We all like that. Do you think there's gonna be more of an integration than with the 2? Do you think there's gonna be minors that also run AI?

Like, they're gonna take a certain amount of power, and maybe they'll scale in and out of 1 or the other depending on what's more profitable or what works for them. It's certainly being talked about.

It's a good question. AI is is isn't like you can just drop a container of AI like you can Bitcoin miners.

And the same goes for demand response programs. They just can't turn off AI like you can Bitcoin mining. So they differ in that way. The initial construction of AI has to be built in a certain way where it's almost like a brain. You can't have a long run of AI machines from one end to the other

because you're gonna have latency between machines. So it has to be constructed in a way where it almost functions like a brain, and there's there's equal latency Okay. Between all of these nodes in the AI brain. So it's much easier to

scale up and down with the miners. Mhmm.

Yeah. Mhmm. We're we're flexible. Mhmm. You familiar with the term load shape? Have we talked about that on the show before? Oh, yeah.

He fucking loves that one, doesn't he? Oh, base load load shape. Yeah. He does love load shape. So it you know, Bitcoin miners are generally a pancake shaped load shape. Mhmm. And in a way,

electricity producers like that pancake shape, and then in a way, they're agnostic to it because they can pretty much predict what the the base load output needs to be for that day anyhow. They're quite sophisticated in that. You're not throwing them a lot of loops.

But if they get it, if you do this orange pilling thing to energy producers, they can understand the fact that I like this analogy of doing pancake shape.

Because when you're making breakfast for your kids, when you have multiple kids and you're making them any fucking meal, and one kid says, oh, I want this, and And the other kid says, oh, I want that. What if I'm gonna make, spaghetti? Oh, we just had spaghetti last week. But if you know they like pancakes

and you know how many pancakes each one of these kids is going to eat, then it allows you to produce the exact amount of pancakes that your kids are going to consume. I feel like if I just gave this analogy to all the electricity providers in the world, they would wanna work with Bitcoin miners.

It's a great analogy, mate. Bitcoin miners can be an easy, small, flexible load for for energy producers, where where I don't think AI is the same. They're gonna be run want to be run like a data center. They're not going to want downtime. They're probably not gonna participate so willingly

in demand response programs like Bitcoin miners do. That is fair. Baseload finishes the article by saying there are literally folks out there trying to create powerful brains in the form of these computers. You heard that one supercomputer consume up to 40 megawatts for 1 big brain supercomputer.

So does that mean that the energy the human brain consumes is over 40 megawatts of electricity in comparison? So one supercomputer, 40 megawatts. A Bitcoin mine is 1 megawatt to 700 megawatts with multiple computers,

and the human brain, which cannot be calculated as far as energy consumption. You'll have to decide which one is best, but just know what is more important than the other for some folks out there, and those folks are indeed human.

For me, the most important thing is other humans, then I'm gonna rake Bitcoin after that, and then the AI supercomputer. I'm glad he made that point, though. How much energy does our brains consume to be brains versus an AI supercomputer?

Wouldn't you work that out in terms of consumption of food and how much energy you consume of food? Just how much it takes to run, then minus how much movement you and you can't really work it out, can you? Here's here's where I but, yeah, like, I I guess if you were to sit all day long and not burn any other calories,

then you could assume, oh, okay. If if I expended 2,000

calories of caloric output, then that's how much the brain could Can you help? You can convert calories to To energy. To BTUs, to water.

Yeah. The problem is you don't know how much

of the calories that you consume are actually being used to function just your brain. That's what I said. If you just set it around. If you have. Yeah. But you can't you still can't work it out because you might take in more calories than you burn, and then that turns to fat. But you can't calculate

jumps out. Like, you can't calculate and go, oh, well, I definitely use this much to run my brain.

It's just not an anxiety. Some nerd has has figured it out, and it's probably

not 40 megawatts. No. I don't think it is. That's for fucking sure.

mafia. Yeah. Some of you may have heard about it because it was going around the internets and on the tweeters, but I will give you the inside story. Somebody got scammed on some mining equipment,

and it involved a few guys in the Pleb Miner mafia. None of them did anything wrong, so let me get that out of we didn't have a scammer come in the group exactly, but members of the group were affected by a scam, and we're going to lay out the scam a bit, some of the details,

and, hopefully come up with some solutions to avoid being scammed in the future. The story is as such, and just one of the people were very, very public about it, and that was hashing to heating, so I will mention his name. The other parties in the group were public, but not, like, overtly public beyond our our circle,

so I'm not going to mention their name. Got it? That's fair. Okay. Alright. So this involved hashing to heating. And what happened is somebody initiated a conversation in Telegram with him in some of the mining groups and some of the other, like, home heating type groups and contacted him, and this person will be referred to now as TFF

FS, not FFC. T f s, the fucking scammer. He might be fat though, probably. Probably. But if he wants,

any sort of

mud plumbing hoodie or anything like that, he can go fuck himself. He sure can. You dirty, scamming, cunt. I can't believe someone's come in and fucked with the mafia. I hope that somehow we find this bastard. Mhmm. Or bitch.

True. Make them pay. Yeah. That's kinda the wrong group of people to fuck with. Yeah. Somebody contacted

him about a 21 energy offering, and I've know about 21 energy from SolEx. I believe that he's the one that told me about them because they're a company in the EU that you can get mining equipment off of and some of the home heating stuff.

Much like Altair's The Chimney, they do a thing like that, or Rick's Space Heater. They they have a thing like that. So somebody contacted Hashingka Heating and said, oh, I have some some deals on these pro model heaters.

We bought a bunch, and they're in the United States. So that that was a a sophisticated way of getting to hold hold of him. Everybody knows Hash Into Heating has a passion

for increasing Bitcoin mining by may making it available to somebody who wants to capture heat at a small scale, a large industrial scale. So they they got their hooks into them on that. He got excited. Oh, these heaters are pretty cool, and if I can somehow get these into hands the hands of people,

that would be a good thing. So they initially got him by saying they've got a bulk deal in the US on these 21 Energy home heater things. So Hash into Heating reposts that offer, and 21 Energy, like, liked it or retweeted it. So in his doofus brain, you know, this somehow

endorsed this deal. And now now he's like he's been pushed down the hill

and missed a ton of red flags on the way. Then they introduce miners into the deal, and they say, and we also have because inside these heating machines is pretty much, you know, just a miner with an enclosure around it and some other peripherals to control it. We have miners too.

So now that they know they got their hooks in hashing to heating, they say, oh, well, he's a member of the community. He's a good guy. He's gonna get this stuff out there. Now he reaches out to a few people and says, hey. You know, what do you think of this deal? He reaches out to me. So this is my my

screw up in this operation. He says, hey. I I got this thing going on. Would you mind if I post it in the Telegram group? Now people ask me this 20 freaking times a week. Can I do this in the Telegram? Can I do this in the Telegram group? And and I try to be laissez faire about everything.

You know, libertarian principles, as long as you're not hurting anybody or being disgusting or something in there, and you're not posting, you know, feet pics or something in the group, go ahead. Hey. What's wrong with feet pics?

Apparently, I've chosen, scam offers over feet pics. Mhmm. It's just hard to make these micro decisions

constantly. And I talked to SolEx about this, and he's like, but how is any of this your fault? You had nothing to do with this. You can't control everything. You know, he's just so matter of fact about stuff sometimes. Nice, isn't it as well? Yeah.

So he talked me off the ledge. Like, I no longer feel guilty about it. I mean, I can't control everything in that group. It's supposed to be an association of guys, not some dictatorship where I fucking control everything in the group. So, anyways, that that was my portion into it. So I said, yeah. Go ahead and and post it in the group.

He was assuming that the scammer was vetted by the community, or I assumed that. And I also assumed that Hashentah Heating had done his due diligence because he's never asked me anything like that. Can I post something? Never. Not in a 1000000 fucking years. So I assume this came directly from him. I haven't talked to him in a while.

He's kinda been been off the map. I think he was taking care of his mom for a while. So I haven't seen him in a while. Can I post this? Yeah. Yeah. Go ahead and post it in the group. This is how they executed the scam. They come up, say they got these heater things.

They only have 6 or 9 units or something like that, you know, the same amount as the heat heater things. Hashina Heating took this to other people too and and showed them the deal. And then one of these guys who I'm pretty sure I know who it is. He's like, there's a lot of red flags in there. I'd I'd wanna video chat.

Well, one of the guys in the group had already taken taken him up on this and started to pursue things. So the guy that we know, this other person, we're gonna call him pleb number 1. I'm struggling with this one here.

Why? Oh, to reveal to reveal stuff. Okay. You know, like, to protect this person's, anonymity. Okay. Long story short on them, they get interested in the deal, and there's, like, a three way conversation between pleb number 1, pleb number 2, which

pleb number 1 is gonna send these supposed machines to pleb number 2. So they all start talking with the scammer, but what the scammer does is does a divide and conquer type operation between all of them. Sneaky sneaky. I say something to the 3 of you, then I say, oh, I couldn't get a hold of Heating.

But, yeah, this deal, I'm gonna add a couple more machines. And and, yeah, I was saying 600, $700 per machine, but now I have a few more, and so I'm willing to drop price. And then the divide and conquer, plus instilling a sense of urgency, is really what did the trick here. So pleb number 1 didn't

let everybody know what was going on or vet every step of the process

because he felt a sense of urgency, like this deal was going to go away. And then when they threw more machines on top, it was like, oh, oh, oh, okay. Yeah. Sure. Well, I'm just gonna go ahead and and send the funds now. And so that's how it happened. They didn't get on a video chat.

They didn't all talk about it. They didn't pull themselves out of it and say, let me show this deal to everyone else and see what they think. I'm telling you, if you had shown any of these details to the rest of the group, like, if they would have been like, hold up. Wait. That don't make any fucking sense.

Don't do that. But they felt that sense of urgency. They got to tease people are very sophisticated in this. They are. And don't everybody think that you're so nuanced in this world where you can't be taken advantage of? Well, it's timing as well. You can't. These people do it every day.

Sometimes we're functioning at our best, and sometimes we're not. And if someone who's sophisticated catches you at a time where you haven't fully got your guard up or you're onto other things and you're stressed and

you you're not giving it all your thought, then, yeah, like you say, anyone can get scammed. But it's just shit to see it happen in one of our groups.

And, yes, they're a sponsor, but this is why I would always say to people, go and speak to Altair. Don't fucking find some random cunt on Telegram and send them over Bitcoin and just trust them because,

well, this sort of stuff does happen, and it might look like a good deal. But, usually, things are too good to be true, so just be careful out there. And at very least, just,

ask a few people in the group and just double check and triple check before parting with any sats. Don't ask me to verify deals, please. Don't send me Yeah. Don't ask me to verify deals, please. Me deals and sask if this is a deal, and I'm not going to answer you on that. Unless you ask me, hey,

I heard about these things called SATs. Should I buy them? I'll go, yep, every time. That's the only deal that I'll be verifying. No k y c? Yeah. But there are not there are enough other people in the group who would be happy to. And like I say, just

don't be in a panic and a rush, and don't make these sort of decisions lightly because it's just shit to see people be separated from their Bitcoin. Mhmm. Especially friends and people who are in our group. It's it's sad to see. So speak to people in the group or go to someone like Altair and protect yourself.

You know, who

called the scams increasing in a bull market is Alex, and hashing to heating had admitted so. Mhmm. Alex had sent out a tweet, like, a month or 2 ago saying, hey. Be aware. There are mining scams incoming.

Pleb number 1 was gracious enough to let everyone know that this isn't to give his side of things, and I'm just going to read his statement. He said, for all in the PMM,

this one is on me for pursuing without my own due diligence. I hold the blame and do not want hashing to heating bare the cost of my misfortune. We all look out for each other in terms of deals. I got caught up in one that was too good to be true by pulling the trigger before I should have.

I've been in the game long enough to know to look out for this, but here we are. Ashing de Heating has been 100% stand up with me in this, and I'd like to thank him for that. We are a community of misfits, and we all make mistakes like me.
