Pleb Miner Month Finale
We did it! We managed to present and entire month (ahem, make that 2 months) of mining content focused on the Pleb Miner. Max, Jon, and Sarah took on the task of herding cats in this #PlebMinerMonth finale featuring: @SalGoodHODL, @hashing2heating, @406Bitcoin, @techengineer21, @DCentralTech, @pwmarcinko, @BingBong_BTC, @ZuccThis, @KaboomracksAlex, @bitcoinbassload, @btctwatterpants, and @Schnitzel.
#PlebMinerMonth started out as a proposal to feature Pleb Miners at a mining conference and grew into so much more. Max and Jon merely set the wheels in motion, the #PlebMinerMonth crew took it from there and as the month rolled on, more and more Plebs hopped on the train. Now it’s a perpetual motion machine speeding along under its own power.
We launched #PlebMinerMonth with Jon’s “What is a Pleb Miner” Bitesize Bitcoin and a pod with Max and @Diverter_NoKYC. The launch was fitting as many Pleb Miners were inspired to do so because of Diverter’s “Mining for the Streets’ article. Just as Mining for the Streets kicked off many into mining, we hope that #PlebMinerMonth will do the same for a new generation of miners.
During the month we featured articles from @Smidnico, @Marketsbylili, @Schnitzel, energy market updates from @bitcoinbassload, as well as Stormcrow from @SovrnBitcoiner. A BlackBox build guide from @YooperHODL, Bitesize Bitcoins from @BingBong_BTC and @ZuccThis and several awesome interviews, some that have yet to air!
We gave away ASIC miners from @Kaboomracks, @pwmarcinko, @btctwatterpants, @406Bitcoin, @DCentralTech, @mrcdbrown3 and Jon. We were moved at the willingness of Plebs to #HashTheTorch. We awarded UngovernableMisfits.com gear such as Pleb Miner Skull t-shirts and hoodies, and gear donated by @onthebrinkie from @NoderunnersShop. Welcome back to Bit by Bit and the final episode of Club Minor Month. This month was absolutely incredible. We had so many people helping, literally too many to name right now, so we've put them all in the show notes.

It has, and we've, I don't even know what day we're on in IRL land, but towards the end of the month, and so far we've given away a bunch of machines.
We've given away a lot of T-shirts and hoodies, stickers from Node Runners. Geez, I'm trying to look through the list. Oh, Seed Signer, gave away a Seed Signer build. That was pretty exciting.

Yeah, I mean, you've only been harping on about it all month, but you really keep in track. Ronan Dojo, they're giving away a machine. Oh, yeah, I might keep that too. Yeah, now everybody really gets to see our motivation to think, why would you do with this?
Why would you give away all these machines and spend all this time writing articles and recording pods? Oh, I'll get some free stuff. (laughs) That's on record now. (laughs) You're too honest.
Gave away a whole lot of brains, Bitcoin mining handbooks. Those have to be mailed out soon. I've given away, I think, 15 of them, and then maybe 10 from Mr. Crown. Are these the ones that all got sent back?
Yeah, let's be sent twice. No, that was the Node Runner stickers, and that was just the ones that I shipped from here to the EU, because I don't know how to fill out a customs form. Yeah, me neither.
Apparently telling people that you have stickers and toys, that's not good enough. According to Brinky, you have to put promotional stickers and toys. I guess because I wasn't promoting anything, just a gift.
Not shitting. Stickers and toys. Yeah. (laughs) So the way we're gonna run this finale here is just to bring a lot of the guests that we had on, whether it was a podcast or someone who wrote an article or a pleb who stood up and hash the torch and volunteered to give away a machine.
Some of these people I spoke to, some of the people you spoke to, and some of the people, their podcast hasn't even aired yet, because we had so much content that there just wasn't enough time to edit and get it all out there.
It's been ridiculous how much content has come through, and it's not even like any of it's shit, and I can just bin it. It's all been high quality, so I've been just piling up, so I think we may have to extend this one slightly.
We shall save. I don't think anybody will be terribly disappointed that there's gonna be more content coming out. (laughs) We just won't be doing a lot of the giveaways associated with it, but the knowledge is free, so that's giving something away.
That's the real gift. (laughs) The gift of getting to hear us talk for hours on end. What do you think we could have done better? I think I could have done better with my IT skills. I could have done better with saving audio that I've spent hours editing and messing around with.
Some of your jokes were subpar. - I agree. - Other than that, I think fucking nailed it. - In my terrible British impression. - It was just disgusting. I mean, the only thing that I can say is that it wasn't on bit by bit, so.
- No, it was on the hatchcast, yeah. - Yeah, that's okay. - It's stained their reputation, not mine. - You would have edited it in a way that it would have sounded good. - Yeah, that's true.
- But then you would have lost the edit. - Yes. (laughs) - What do you think we could have done better other than, obviously, the accent? (laughs) - I think my planning could have gone better.
Sometimes it was very willy-nilly, and I think Mr. Crown will attest to this. It was, hey, we haven't done anything today. - Mr. Crown, can you do this real quick? - Mm, and he would be in bed, 'cause it was possible. - He'd be in bed at 6 p.m.
(laughs) - Grandma would be in bed. (laughs) - With his little knight hat on, then his pajamas. - The pajamas that are just a long robe, though, with his little knight cap. Do you think he also carries one of those little candle holder things?
- Oh, definitely. - Night and day. - Around the house. - Night and day. - That could have been something that we improved upon. Mr. Crown, we don't have anything today. Let's put a Niko article out there, and thank God for Niko Smith.
That's all I can say. I think he really saved Club Minor Month a lot of days. - Yeah, so much good content. - Mm-hmm. We didn't even get to post all of his articles that he has on his sub-stack, but there was a plethora of them, and he's like, yeah, you can put up whatever you want to.
- Sarah, what could John have done better in life? - He definitely needs to relax a little bit. - Oh, really? - Yeah, he's over critical of everything, and everything's been wonderful. So, you know, a little mistake for things like that.
Nobody notices, but he does, so. - And he never forgets. - No, no, no, he will never forget. Never forget. - I can't let it go. - Sometimes that it's a lot of unnecessary stress. - But he does it all looking incredible, and I think you have to give him some brownie points for that.
I obviously tuned into the last episode, and wow, just what a man. - Yeah, I know, that's what I say to myself every day. - Mm, the first thing you say, and the last thing at night, fuck, I'm a lucky girl.
- I know, how did I get into this? - You know, that's enough of that. (laughing) - I don't like you two hanging out. - Yeah, okay, all right, that's enough then. Cheers, Sarah, bye. - All right, bye bye.
- What was your favorite part, Max? - That's a difficult one, to be honest. I don't know, maybe it was the sal pod. Maybe it's 'cause I had to edit it twice, so I really listened deeply, but I probably found that the most interesting where I was like, fuck, there's just so much of this that I don't understand or didn't know about.
So yeah, that one was particularly good. The in-person one, that was pretty spectacular. You had the sicadas in the background. That felt pretty special. - With Bing Bong. - Yeah, that was a really nice one.
I don't know, it's hard, it's just, there's so much content. Like, some of the stuff is just, it depends how recently I've listened to it, but I don't know, I think maybe they're at the top for me.
For me, it was a, I really liked how we started out. Went with the what is a pleb minor recording, and then went into the diverter pod, and that was a hell of way to launch. We didn't eke things out.
It's like, let's just slam everybody with content right now. - Yeah, that was a good one, actually. And as I said in that pod, like, for me, that was listening to him. It was the first time I was really exposed to any of this.
It was the first time that I started to consider the implications of people mining at home, how important it was, and that it was possible. Yeah, so getting to speak to him at the beginning, I think, was quite fitting.
- Especially since mining for the streets was inspirational to people. I think a lot of the people that we have in the group would say mining for the streets maybe started them off on their path towards mining.
And it's almost like diverter handed hash the torch to us, you know, at least for the month, and say, especially, you know, after his claims of being Satoshi, you know, that I didn't expect this to kind of be everything that it was.
I didn't expect mining for the streets to take on a life of its own. And I feel the same way about Plaid Minermon that it has taken on a life of its own. - Yeah, it's been mental, like looking, just like putting that hashtag in and just looking at everything that's spinning off from there.
I mean, I've not been able to keep part with it at all. You know, I've spent so much time just behind my screen, just editing away and fucking around that I haven't been able to. But when I do, some sort of just chuck the hashtag in and it's just like, fuck, this is actually doing something.
This is actually making some waves here and people are actually considering this is maybe the way to come in. And it hasn't released yet, but I was speaking to the run and dojo guys the other day and talking about like trying to bring people in, not explaining that, oh, this is gonna make you multi-millionaire buying, you know, some sats.
I'm not explaining it that way, but like this is fuck you money. This is like proper something that you can hold, something that no one can take if you secure it properly. And yeah, it's like proper fuck you money.
So you explain it like that. And if they then come in with mining, you know, one miner in your garage and you're getting some proper cash for the future. And I said like we've actually had people who have either had machines in giveaways or started to plug them in and that's their entrance into the space.
And it's like, that's fucking cool to me. If we can have people who, their first sats are mining or buying off a mate that's a miner and they never ever go to a KYC exchange, they never put their details in.
They never go into the system and no one knows they have it. That's perfection. - We went back to the beginning. We went back to people's original entry into Bitcoin through mining. A lot of people that we know their entry into Bitcoin was trying to acquire sats and to hodle them and to get rich.
And then you realize, well, that's not an attainable path anymore and then you follow Bitcoin or stay in Bitcoin because you love it and you love the people and you love the idea and you love the potential of sovereignty that it can give you.
And then you stay and then you might get into mining. But if we're getting people into mining right away and that's their entry point into Bitcoin, that's really exciting for me. So we started out with Diverter.
The next day was the Schnitzel Pod. Bing Bong after that and my Rust Belt article gave away hoodies, T-shirts, seed signers, geomandosa, barn miner. Just looking at this list of guys, what an impressive group.
Not because they have big mines, but they have big mines with the IMDS. And they're always willing to help people out. I've seen Bing Bong on different chat rooms and offering to help people out with privacy stuff or perhaps noise mitigation stuff.
His setup is really good for that. Geomandosa, same thing. He does a lot of different things. Barn miner is one of the most prolific people I know on Twitter in the home mining wizards, in the sovereign Bitcoin or telegram groups, helping people out, always willing to offer information.
Helping hand whenever he can, he'll even travel the country to go into Bitcoin meetups or I know that he went towards the middle of the country to help a guy set up a farm or at least to look to see how he set up the farm and pass that knowledge on to other people.
When we got into the Medipod, Max, what did you think about recording with MediMissary? - Yeah, I thought that was really interesting because they're kind of like the newcomers. They're trying to do things a little bit differently and they're very reactive to what people are asking for.
And we've obviously seen that with what they've done with Bit47, first mover there. And I just really respected his honesty. - I did too. - He just put it out how it is, like you'd ask him a question and even if he was like, oh, I don't really know or I haven't had time or I haven't thought about it.
He would just say that. He wasn't trying to sound smart or do any of the bullshit that sometimes you see. And I was like, yeah, fuck, I'd like to have a beer with this guy, he's quality. We're like a mountain with him.
- No, fuck that. (laughing) I'll wait at the bottom of the bar, he can come back down. - Hey, I got you this rock from the top of the mountain. (laughing) - But yeah, I mean, it's cool to see that there is some good competition out there.
And obviously like, they seem to be doing things a little bit differently. Yeah, it's good to see. And from what you've told me about the experience and the Telegram bot and all that kind of stuff, it's just, I don't know, like it sounds really pathetic, but I just liked that they had like a little dad joke thing
in there and these kind of stuff. - Yeah, it's cool things. - It's character. It's just funny, it's different. It's a bit more pleb and a bit less cool pro. - Exactly. And all the people that we have on pleb minor month, whether they're a large minor, I think Jason Vaughn's a pretty large minor to the smallest minor or somebody
that has just a couple of machines like myself. Everybody's a pleb and everybody's got along well and there's no ego in that group at all. - Yeah, it's really nice. - Although I do feel like a fraud 'cause I still not plugged a fucking machine in.
So every night when I go to sleep, I just think you fail, you fucking finish. - You should. - And I do, and I just think about what everyone else like what you would be thinking. - Yeah. - I feel ashamed.
- I tell you what I was thinking. - Yes, yeah, and I'll repeatedly message, messages me like on a timer every 20 minutes, you're a fucking loser, you're a fraud, you haven't got one machine, you fuck.
- LARP, you little bitch. (laughing) - We haven't even started drinking yet really. - I know. - After the Medipod, we released our first base load article. - Yeah. - I love that. - I have to read them two or three times to really get it all in.
But what's helpful is that he attaches a little piece of music to it. - That's the best thing. - Keep yourself entertained while you read the article. - Well, that's the best bit, is that I can't read, but I can listen to music.
So I just bang that on and I just like, have a little look through and just see the odd word and I'm just like, oh, I just soak it all in. I just, I hear what other people say about it and I make some assumptions from that and just go, ah, this guy.
What a legend. - He's really smart. - Yeah. - I read the first article and halfway through, boop, tang. (laughing) - Boop, tang, clan for the first article, Nirvana for the second. - Yeah.
- And the third one was the Johnson Brothers Strawberry something number 23 was the song. - Yeah. - But he got into a little bit of '70s funk. - The pairings exquisite. - They are, yeah, like a fine wine.
Schnitzel article, zuck pod. How about zuck, zuck step it up just from being a player, the 3D printer guy, 3D prints all kinds of things and he stepped up and said, yeah, I'll print some stuff for people.
- Yeah, incredible. - That's what I love is just like, people who have suddenly popped out of nowhere, like midway through, they've heard a little bit and they've been inspired to give away a machine or do some printing or whatever else it is.
And yeah, it's cool, like it gives feedback it, you know, 'cause I'm quite used to just putting out content and you get the downloads, I get the old message here and there, but you don't get the same kind of interaction and then you're onto the next one, whereas this has been like a focused month
on a particular subject where we're getting constant feedback and people joining and it's, I don't know, it's definitely a different feeling, I do like it. The people that have jumped up midway through Jason Vaughn jumped up the volunteer machine, he's in the room right now and we'll be talking to him
in a little bit, just message to me on Twitter, like, hey, I got a machine in the shipping container of mine, I could dig out and send to somebody. I was like, yeah, hash the torch. And Paul is another guy, just jumped up.
Hey, I got this machine, the power supply is bad. Chat was like, hey, I got a power supply, I don't know where he ended up getting the power supply from, but it was very quick. Okay, I got a power supply bad.
Boom, a bunch of guys come up and say, I can hook you up with another power supply. Jonathan from Decentral in Canada, Repair and Hosting Facility. He's like, yeah, I'll donate a Dragon Mint T1 to the cause.
Sure, jump in the telegram group. I think if anybody has any repair questions, we have a couple of repair guys in the group that you didn't even get to hear from this month. Austin, Cryptominer Austin, a repair guy.
Jonathan, of course, from Decentral and everything that Decentral can do. Just the amount of knowledge that's in that group is incredible and the willingness to help. I think if any of us were working on a machine, we could have reached out to any one of those guys and they would have jumped right up.
As a matter of fact, I think like a few months or a few weeks ago, JP Watts is like, hey, I got a machine. I think I got a bad control board. And Barnminer was right there. Hey, I got a control board.
I'm able to, yeah, no problem. I love that. He hasn't said much, but Rosh, when Mallory, Rosh has also volunteered a machine. Barnminer, we gave away machine. Alex, two machines, a couple of machines from somebody else.
It's been pretty impressive. Just the giveaway for that. Usually a lot of these events, when people want to give something away, it's like, here's a book, here's a sticker, here's a hat. The fact that we can give away machines is it's been incredible.
Have we had any feedback? Have we had anyone actually plug one of these in and give us a story, yeah, on it? Yeah, we have. Initially, the first machine to give away was just from Alex, from Kaboomracks.
He went to Biplock. Just from Alex. Oh, just Alex. Yeah, you know, just Alex. No, I'm saying it wasn't part of Bledminer. He was just from Alex, I mean, what's the difference? He's got the machines coming out of his fucking ears.
It coughs and a machine comes out. You know, Alex had brought a machine to Biplock Boom and Chet, Barnminer and Alex were walking around Biplock Boom, hanging out with people, getting drunk.
And they found a worthy guy and gave him the machine. So that was really the first giveaway when we kind of co-opted the giveaway a little bit, but really it was just Alex's doing 'cause it's something fun that he wanted to do to take a machine and plug it into his Airbnb and then give it away a Biplock Boom.
Oh, wasn't this the one where they had to do a nipple cripple but nobody did it? Yeah, nobody twisted any nipples. That's kind of what I put. Like, hey, if you see Chet, Chet's like a big guy.
I wouldn't want to tackle with him. But go ahead and roll up on him and twist his nipples. Yeah, see what happens there. Yank on his beard. I think that's something we can think about if we do something again is definitely bring some more kink to it.
I wasn't thinking the same thing, but now that you mention it, yeah, more kink. You never have enough. Anyway, to transition from kink. The 11th day on the 11th day of Pledminer month, we release the hash, the torch pod.
But I didn't even need to release that early. It was already happening. The whole hash, the torch concept, was happening within the group with everybody giving machines away in their time and their efforts and stuff like that, impressive.
That everybody was already hashing the torch. But I was inspired especially by Chet and Carl and what happened between the exchange of value for value. Let me give you some of my farm yields and a little tour of my farm.
And you come and help me set up a machine and give me a machine. - That was a special moment for me listening to that because it's something that we kind of theorized for a long time in the Meastadell and to see it like, actually, we'll not see it.
I felt like I could see it. I felt like it was a movie playing in my head of that experience and it was like, fuck, this is where we want to be going. It's like Pledms from all around the country, all around the world meeting, helping each other, sharing their skills and produce and just cutting out the other rancid,
horrible, fucking shit world that we have around us and just working together and it's like-- - I look like it is, yeah, brother. (laughing) - You know what it's like? You walk through in normal life and then go now with Carl's own zombies.
- Zombies, yeah, he's exactly right. It is exactly that. - What was the, you know what I was saying the other day? I was asking you and Sarah, had you seen the film, the zombie film, the British zombie film?
- Sean of the Dead. - Sean of the Dead. - It's exactly like Sean of the Dead, the way to walk around and moan and get nothing done and feed on flesh and blood. - And if you want to be a part of that group, you have to walk around and moan.
- Oh, no, no, no, no. - It's actually a zombie, too, yeah, that's fit in. - A second you show some intelligence, they're gonna eat your brains. - Even within this group, we've got enough people with enough skills to get pretty much anything done.
And then you extend that out and this is this whole "Mesh to Del" theory is like groups, like we've got here, linking with other groups that have other skills and what we have in common is this common goal with Bitcoin.
And so, yeah, just seeing that play out on a small scale was pretty exciting for me. - Sometimes I think the "Mesh to Del" when we get together, are we just larping? - Yeah, a lot of it. - And then when I get to see like, there's a lot of it is, but there's actionable things that come out of it, and like the Chet and Carl
experience Carl's in the "Mesh to Del" now, in any time that anybody has any permaculture questions, here's a guy that runs an active regenerative agriculture farm and he can answer questions about chickens and goats and swales and all these regenerative agriculture, permaculture principles.
Even when I wrote the Rust Belt article, I had the idea that like, well, of course, everybody's been talking in this area for the past 50 years, how do we revitalize the Rust Belt, as well as all former industrial areas around the world.
And Carl had come up with something, not come up with something, but it's a permaculture principles, the eight permaculture principles, eight forms of capital. And I was like, well, that's the missing piece in that Rust Belt article.
I can kind of fold those in and there's some actionable things that we can do in this area and a lot of other areas to revitalize. After the hash, the torch, and then Chet and Carl did some base load articles, did another Nico article, then we released the pod with Jan Chopek from brains.
And when I listened to it back, and you and I were kind of joking, after the recording that like, were you lost? Like, yeah, I was kind of lost throughout it. But then I listened back and I was like, well, maybe I did follow along with some things, but he did a good job of going really high level
and bringing some things down to the pleb level. So you and I might not have understood everything that he was saying, but I think the finished product, a lot of people could understand the concepts that Jan was talking about.
- Yeah, that was a big brain episode. That was, for me, honestly, like some of it, I got a little bit lost. But as I listened back and edited and stuff, I think you're right, like the final product was good.
I think everyone can follow along. And the depth of knowledge on some of this stuff just blows me away. And I think that's why it's so important that everyone does work together because there is just too much for any one person to do.
Like Bitcoin is a subject, even just mining as a subject. There's so much that goes into it. - Yeah. - You know, you can't just be a software engineer, you can't just understand money, you'd have to have some like plumbing skills.
If you're setting something up, you need to have some welding skills, you need to understand networking, you need to understand privacy, you need to understand so much stuff to get it done and get it done right.
And that's why these collaborations are so key to me. It's very different to fear world. It's like, be good at loads of different stuff, tinker around and then have a good group of mates who help you out and you help them.

You know, we were chatting all day long in that telegram group, talking about all kinds of things. And different stuff will come up and be like, "Oh yeah, I know how to do that," or, "You should look into this," and so on and so forth.

You guys went pretty deep on the technical infrastructure and the importance of that, and it's not something I really had even considered
to be honest, it's just like use the Wi-Fi. It works where it doesn't, and that's about it, but it was really cool to just hear you guys go as deep as you did with all of this stuff, and I think a lot of people really enjoyed that.
It's not something that's covered that often. - Yeah, I even, you know, tend to forget about how those things work in my day to day, 'cause I don't deal with all of that a lot anymore, just from time to time.
And I'm constantly, you know, every month or every two months having to refresh my memory about how the internet actually works to get my job done sometimes. So, I think like we said, it's the most complex human engineering project, and it's just crazy.
All the layers and something to be, to sit back and look in awe at for sure. It's kind of how I think about it. - Yeah, it is crazy. And I think it's something that's so far away from the average person's thoughts, you know.
Everyone's just like, "Ah, the internet, how does it work?" Well, I don't know, it just works most of the time. It's like, you know, no one thinks about this, but yeah, it'd be interesting to hear your thoughts on how Bitcoin changes things going forward.
Do you think like in terms of infrastructure, there's a lot of talk on energy infrastructure and the management of base load and all these kind of things with Bitcoin. Is there any thoughts that you have around how it interacts with the stuff that you touch and think about?
- That's a really interesting question. I haven't put a hole on a thought into, but it certainly opens the door for some different ways of thinking about how people connect together and how we need to take an adversarial approach to our privacy and our sovereignty and how we might be able to do that in a digital space
or a cyber world, let's say. One of the things that I love about being a solo, like I have one minor, so I'm a solo home minor. I mind with a pool, but I have one minor. I don't have many.
But one of the things I love about that is that... - Hey guys, I think we gotta do another room. Half the people can't hear anything. If you like, look at the chat. - Now you can hear. - Well, that was fascinating.

Go on, so I can't even remember where we got to there now. So I'd ask you the changes that Bitcoin could make on this infrastructure. You started explaining. - Yeah, so I think one of the things I like about being...
- Ah, being a solo minor. - A minor at home. A prospector, let's say, is that I get to participate in this really big thing. I get to play an active role in my own sovereignty. I have to learn how to take an adversarial thinking process to defending myself and my resources against the world,
whether it's governments or criminals or whatever. - What's the difference? - There you go.
But how that is actually going to change the future of the internet infrastructure is, like I said, it's a very interesting question. And I know there's guys like Jason Lowery out there who is tied to the US Space Force, and he's trying to...
I think he's some kind of fellow at MIT right now, but he's trying to promote Bitcoin as a national security thing. And I know there's a lot of people that argue with him about that in the Bitcoin space.
- Is that the Bitcoin as a weapon guy or whatever it was? - Yeah, that's him. - Yeah, except I think he looks at it as a defensive thing. - He may have adjusted his viewpoint later, but that's when he first came on to see that's something he was saying.
- Okay, but he looks at mining as a projection of power, of cyber power, at least what he's writing about these days. And I think that's an interesting perspective, because if you were to take that perspective, it would change how you might architect parts of the internet, let's say.
And I'm not saying he's right. I'm not saying he's wrong. I just think it's interesting. Because he is looking at these national adversarial relationships that the United States has with other countries.
And criminals and terrorists or whatever you want to call them, that are less organized or less gigantic organization. So that kind of strategic thinking is something that kind of is what my own little castle that I have here in my house drives me to think about.
But especially with Bitcoin. - Because it seems like if something's going to be used for global trade, and that more and more people are going to store their value in it, and people are going to have to think about how they secure their keys, and all the innovations that spin off it that we haven't really thought about yet,
then the security of the internet is going to be like, is obviously mission critical now, isn't it? But it's like, I guess the average person is going to have to start thinking about it a little bit more.
Outside of just, oh, I'm going to put an Norton antivirus on a computer so that when I'm watching porn, nothing's going to attack my computer. That's about as much as people really think about it.
Whereas if they're storing all of their value, or most of their value in Bitcoin, and they're mining, and they're using Bitcoin properly, it's going to become life and death for people. Agreed. It's going to be like, maybe, unfortunately, it's going to turn into a game of thrones kind of thing, where we each have our little castle,
and our castle represents our legacy. I'm not a big fan of my arcies, necessarily, but the parallel is definitely there. And today, 99.99% of the people who use the internet do not think that way, because they have no vested investment in it.
They pay a couple of dollars, they stream a few shows, they buy stuff off Amazon, and they return it the next day. And they don't look at the internet as being the base layer of their savings account.
Yeah, it's going to be pretty wild, especially when you pair that with everything that's going on in the world. And if things continue on the trajectory they are, then you're going to have a lot of people that are hungry and cold and desperate.
And so then, people are going to want to steal and take those Bitcoin, people are going to want the information on people. And so, do you think that that's something that can be defended by the average person, or is it something that they're going to have to outsource to people who know what they're doing?
Like, what do you sort of think in the next 10 years you expect to see? Like, I know that's a very lofty question, but like, it's interesting to hear from somebody who actually understands this shit and builds it.
Do you want to know tomorrow's lottery numbers, too? No, I've got too much money to be honest. It's fucking getting in the way. So that brings you to like a trusted third party, right? It's almost the exact same thing that Bitcoiners are trying to get away from.
That, I think, is going to be a big challenge. That you have this magic internet money that makes me sovereign and everything. But yet, I need to turn to somebody that needs to know I have that magic internet money in order to help me defend it.
And I have to trust that person to do what I've asked them to do or paid them to do or whatever. And, you know, that is, in my mind, seems like a scary thing in a less regulated, less legal system.
And it really will be interesting to see. And when I say legal, I don't mean like it's illegal. I mean, it doesn't have law wrapped around it. Yeah, I know what you mean. Yeah, so it's going to be very challenging and I'm sure there's people a lot smarter than I am or ever will be who will come up with something reasonable.
Do you think that it's reasonable to assume there's going to be something to do with multi-sig and reputation systems and blinded participants so that you don't have a single point of failure and you don't necessarily, it's not even necessarily multi-sig, but it's
something where, you know, like, you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket kind of thing. You can have like a more secure setup where you have a small amount of trust in multiple participants that don't necessarily have information on you.
Like, in the same way you wouldn't want to share an ex pub with people because you don't want them seeing your transaction history and everything else. Like, do you think that there's a way to set things up where the average person isn't just going to an on-chain or a casa or these kind of third parties, given that we're going to have
to kind of build on the infrastructure we already have. It's not like someone's going to be like, "Oh, we're going to just fucking start from scratch." Like, this is all layers on layers on layers of things that are probably never going to change, right? Probably never going to change is a difficult thing to predict because we have to
deal with change every day and if we don't change things, nothing gets better. So even the lower layers have to change. You know, the foundation layers have to change over time. This is just something that somebody's going to have to solve it.
There was a wallet, I can't remember the name of the wallet that I saw probably about six, eight months ago about with a multi-sig type wallet that was people use on their phones and you create a community.
So every person in the community gets a signature or has it basically a key to add to the signature and then- Was it FEDI? I don't remember. I thought it was like something ninja. Oh, non-chuck, non-chuck.
Non-chuck, okay. Yeah. So like you picture your family, like you have your mom and your dad and your brothers and sisters and you all have this Bitcoin and the family has to vote on spending or something like that.
And to me, that sounded really interesting in terms of a way to so to speak, strengthen your Citadel by decentralizing through a multi-sig scenario but not getting outside of a trusted party scenario.
And I don't know how that would work in the future with businesses and friends and things like that, but it did seem like an interesting idea to me in terms of how we might be able to go forward with some level of trust between persons.
But anyway, I don't know if that's the kind of thing you're thinking about, but that's what it made me think of. I think we're thinking along the same sort of lines. I am well out of my depth.

And the main reason we'll give a little bit of let people see the sausage being made is you made an outline that kept the conversation going, a complicated topic. That's difficult to quantify over audio without the assistance of charts and maps and I think we did a pretty good job of that.
I'm glad you brought up trust, and you and Max talked about trust. That's one thing about this group that makes me want to keep doing PLEB minor month and keep interacting with all of you is that I know that I can trust a lot of you to help out with things. how it is delivered, and how we pay for it. And I haven't really found anybody more of an expert. He's at the pleb level, at least at a way that that can break through this crust of a brain that I have. And I think a lot of other people have then base load. So Bitcoin base load,

me to be here and allow me to contribute. You know, I will be very clear. I am not an expert. This is the deepest rabbit hole possible. And I had to actually look up what the Oxford dictionary defines an expert as and it's a person has a comprehensive and authoritative knowledge or skill
in a particular area. So comprehensive, I could buy that authoritative, probably not actually zero chance because bureaucrats run energy around the world. So, you know, skill, that's to be determined.
How about a pleb pleb? I find what you do extremely useful, even though I'm not at a level where I can travel the country and shop for electricity. But since you're diving down the rabbit holes, we can be right behind you diving down them with you and learn with you. When a lot of people
present information from this authoritative viewpoint, projecting it down on people, they're not receptive of it. But you bring us along the journey with you, even to the point of what genre of music you're vibing to that day. And in that way, we understand the material a lot
better because we're growing with you and we're learning with you. And that's what this industry needs. Every single person on this call, if you didn't have electricity, it would be a rough way of living. I don't know how we'd have the call to be honest with you. Well, first of all, you can't
none of us would know each other. We'd have to literally, Max is talking about telegram and what is that? And that was funny. But we would literally be writing each other telegrams on paper standing them across the world hoping. And you would send a singing telegram? I would. I'd say,
Hey, you know, listen to this song, you may or may you probably have a good chance of not hearing it. Don't forget because, you know, electricity's out of the mix. You can't just pick up a phone and look at what's, you know, doing that. But I digress, you know, so acoustic bass load. That's what
we call you. Now you're talking. Maybe you should have that could be another name for you. And you don't talk about electricity. Yeah, we'll just talk about raw materials, you know, steam and hydro and all different stuff. Yeah. The commodities market brought to you by acoustic
bass load, wood prices, marketing genius, man. Who knew I found my calling? When you do your energy market updates, how do you start your research? So there are a number of ways to quite frankly, a lot of the information, actually, all the information I write, I write that at the end of
them is anybody could look up what I what I'm researching pretty much on a on a any type of search engine you'd like to like to be a part of, you know, the EIA has the energy of information agency, which is a government agency that basically brings all of the data to you. Okay, talking natural gas,
electricity, coal, you know, all different types of things from pricing levels to storage levels, to drill and uncompleted wells for oil and gas, you know, oil is a big one, obviously, too. So it's looking at a lot of stuff, right, looking at NOAA, right, which is the National Oceanic
Atmospheric Association, I believe it's something something like that. And you know, they're, you know, the National Weather Service, you know, giving weather updates and all of that. And then it's looking through these number of things that I go through, different types of publications that
are out there, there's a lot of energy people that are writing stuff. And ones that I that I respect and ones that I don't because I'd like to read both of them. And then just taking that information and verifying it through the data of these type of agencies that can provide the data.
What kind of data points and metrics are you looking at specifically? Yeah, whether temperature is a big deal, you know, weather is a big driver for energy interruption as far as pricing. You can see volatility with pricing for electricity or natural gas or oil
based on weather, you know, hurricanes are big now, we're in hurricane season. So temperature precipitation. And then when you look at energy related metrics, we're looking at production, you know, supply and demand, okay, demand is big, obviously, because if you're having, you know,
like when in COVID happened, there was all this, you know, verbiage of demand destruction, right? And you saw production fall off the map, you saw wells, you know, people not drilling for wells. And you know, you had electricity consumption going negative, well, not negative, but
downward, on a downward spiral. And that drove price way down historic pricing at that point. So, you know, going back, I mean, we're looking at, you have those kind of high level supply demand weather and things, and you really go down to, you know, when you look at market
intelligence, you know, you're looking at different types of energy propaganda, I guess you would call it or whatever newsletters that have real information, and you could verify that with the people that they write about propaganda in a way where you have to sift through the bullshit
to find out the information. Sure, sure. I mean, they're human, they're humans just like us, right? And stuff, right? I mean, that's presumptuous. Who said I was a human? True. But there's times where I've looked at data and knew that that was incorrect,
knew that the numbers were not what they should be. And, you know, one of the best ones is energy, or natural gas storage that comes out every Thursday at 10 30. Ready for this. Albert thinks
is a pink Floyd for crying out loud. Bring us in base load. Yeah. It's a pleasure to be with
you all on a Sunday. Yeah. We bring in that funk all the way from the Appalachia, baby. Let me stop because, you know, we are here to do something, but it's nice to take a break. We get on that
soul train. You know, John, people are too serious all the time. See, that's, you know, that's not on this show. That's the good. That's why this is so refreshing. See, I can speak freely. I can talk about the money that brings freedom. I could talk about energy stuff that can bring freedom to people in knowing
knowledge that's transparent to them. You just drop some funk. You just drop the funk. And what we're doing is we're trying to get all of the junk out of the funk, see, because there's a lot of junk right going on right now. I mean, all the way across the pond,

And we want people to enjoy the very short life that they will live here on this planet, right? And if I can bring value with what I know in the energy markets and music and in a piece of wood with four wheels, then, then I feel like I've done something, you know, at least something small,
you know. Would you at least say that everybody needs to open up your mind, open up your heart, and turn up the bass? Come on, Jeff. I mean, let's go. I mean, look, think about when this movie was created, right? I mean, these people were dancing
all over the place. Now, that also was the same time that, you know, cocaine came in the mix too. So they were dancing just because they didn't. They were dancing just because, you know, they couldn't stop. They literally couldn't stop, you know. But I mean, you know, you watch the,
I'm watching a clip of these guys playing music. I mean, these guys look happy as hell. Straight up. You look happy. They're smiling. They're dancing. Now, you know, they could be going through something that we don't know about. But here, what I'm looking right now,
number one, we don't have that kind of music today. And number two, a bunch of sad people, right? So they're almost ahead of their time. Or at least they were because they making great music. That's cool. You know, that's, that's, that's, you know, may not be, people may not like
it all the time, but it's, it's something that, you know, you go to a party and you having a couple of drinks and you feeling all right, you're going to be dancing to something like that. I don't care what you looking like, what race, color, creed you are, that kind of music will get you dancing,
you know. So in the 70s, it's crazy to think about too, because the energy was expensive in the 70s. You had the gas shortage in the 70s. You had the gas line in 70s. Great, great transition.
They kind of just danced their way out of it. And so why, why can't we do the same, dance our way out of this? Right. Think about it. They, they, you know, we're talking 70s, right? I mean, that was, that was before my time, but, you know,
I talked to my, my pop about it. I used to ask him, like, what, was it crazier back then when you had the LA riots, when you had Vietnam, when you had all these kind of wild things, was it crazier back then? And he said, right now, today, and he, you know, he's telling me, this is the craziest
he's ever seen it, right? It's just got all kinds of stuff. And it's almost relatively the same thing. I mean, we, you know, there's, there's wars, rumors of wars, there's, you know, people just going nuts right now. And, and, and not to mention, but certainly why we're here to talk is, or at least
why I'm here to talk about is there is a forced energy transition. Okay. Not a necessary energy transition, but forced energy transition from people that aren't engineers, and that want to bring a type of rhetoric to the world that simply people not only have people are struggling
with right now, I mean, you know, Europe, just, I don't even know what to say right now. It's the words came to describe the amount of pain these people are feeling. I mean, coffee house is paying $8,000 for a month, a coffee house. Okay. That's crazy to me. It's because this type of mood,
it's a movement that people want to see, not a movement that works. See, not a movement that works. And what we want is we want electricity to work. We want to be able to have these type of conversations, right? With people all over the country, all over the world, right? And not have
a problem, not have the light go on and off all the time, all the time, all the time, or not even know if the light's going to turn on or not. And that's what we're going to continue to see if this continues to go down. And right now it's really, it is quite interesting to say the least
as far as, you know, you got millions of people without electricity, never knew what electricity was, like, you know, and now, and they may, well, actually, they do, they do know what it is, but they have no way of getting it, right? So it's like, we are dying to get this stuff. And we have
it. And you got policies and plans and different types of pieces of paper that get pushed around that makes it go way into the weeds as far as expensive expenses are concerned. And it becomes a problem, right? So, you know, this is this is the world that we live in right now.
Base load, can you explain base load? Why you made that your name and why it's important to the grid?
No problem. Energy, it is the way of life, right? I mean, you need energy to be generated into electricity, right? Nobody, nobody can plug a, it's their cell phone directly into a wellhead, right? You can't, I mean, there's no way of working it, right? You need to have the conduit
move forward and there's a connection there, right? From energy to the plug. There are types of energy that need to run continuously in order to survive because the grid is always going to have demand for electricity, right? Whether it's 12 o'clock in the morning, or it's 12 o'clock in the afternoon,
or five o'clock in the afternoon, whatever timeframe is, there will be demand for electricity. Like, you may want to take a shower at one o'clock in the morning because you may feel sick or you just want to, right? You got home, whatever. If you have a water heater that's electric, well,
you know, there's demand there for that, right? So there is load that needs to be online, okay? That was required at the base level, right? The base level of electricity demand, okay? And there's only a certain types of fuels that can support the continuous duty of energy flowing
24/7. And those types of fuels are getting outside of, going outside of the current rhetoric of folks, right? Because they want to have this quote green electricity, the renewable energy, this greenhouse gas, clean, you know, blah, blah, type of energy, right? The problem is, is that when I take a piece
of coal, I can put fire to that coal, and I can, and BTU's come, British thermal units come out the other side of that, okay? That British thermal unit, I could put that into a, you know, into a terb, and now this is a very large thing here, but, you know, BTU's get put into the terb
and to get electricity so they can, they can move that electricity into the grid all the way down to you, right? And that's a whole big conversation. The reason why base load is important to me is because I like the way the grid is designed for a certain way. I'm not saying I like the way it's
designed, but I'm saying I like the fact that there is energy available that can run continuously, and it can run reliably, okay? Nuclear being one of them, coal, gas, I mean gas is kind of a instantaneous thing, you need electricity, you just burn some gas, boom, it's, it's there,
but base load is important. Look at what's going on with Europe. Max can talk to you about it. They are removing nuclear power. They are, or nuclear energy to be converted into electricity. They are removing coal. They have done that. They have been doing that, the EU has been doing that for
some time. They've effectively done that. Is the EU jumping up and down saying, "Hooray, we have clean energy, everybody, guess what?" No, they're saying, "Bruh, fucking Putin." Yeah, that's a whole rat hole in itself. And actually he made the right move. Energy is a big
deal for people, and especially in Asia where that country is massive. It's a big deal, but you know what, people don't sit here, like you know this inside out and back to front, the average person I speak to in the street genuinely, honestly, they have a flag outside their front door supporting
Ukraine, and they're saying, "Fucking Putin, that's why my energy bills are so high." And they are, you know, I think mine's like 40p a kilowatt hour at the moment, which is like 55 cents a kilowatt hour, and that's just the start, like it's gonna keep going. It's mental, but no one ever
says it's because of retarded policy for years that has caused this. They just go, "Ah, it's fucking Putin." And it's actually, it's actually Putin was the icing on the cake, see? It actually was the EU that it instituted policies to make energy, quote, more reliable, more CO2, no CO2,
you know, bringing the clean energy to the market, renewables, solar wind, all this stuff, and they really wanted that. I mean, you think about it, any major private equity or venture capital, if they're investing in the US, they want to make sure that whatever they're investing in,
that the electricity that's being provided for that industry to make sure it's green, or ESG, or you're not getting any money, okay? This is a big deal. The EU has been on that train for some time now, and the fact that Mr. Putin decided to do what he's doing was just an icing on the cake.
Quite frankly, it just put the pedal to the floor, in my opinion. So, and I wanted to, you know, we're recording, you know, Asia's not a country, it is a continent, okay? So that is large, and Russia wants, you know, why is Russia meeting with China and Mongolia and all these places?
It's because they want control of the energy. If you can have control of the world's largest continent, okay? That's kind of a big deal, and especially when we're trading oil in dollars, which that could be going away soon too, probably, but, you know, that's just a, you know, higher
prices, right? Energy is all policy-driven, right? I mean, why do we get billed the way that we get billed? It's because policies are there to institute how you're billed, tariffs. They're called tariffs, right? So, base loads important to me. Every grid needs to have viable base load,
and what I mean, base load, I'm talking base load conventional generation that you can put online continuously, it could run, it's there, it will meet the demand. There's no variability in the electricity generation. There's no, if the wind blows, we'll get X amount of
electricity capacity output. You burn a piece of coal, you're going to, you can measure pretty accurately what that's going to do on the grid, or, you know, what that's going to, what type of energy can be inputted to create or generate electricity. So, would we be able to say
base load is like the drums in the base? That's the rhythm section. It is the rhythm section. You can put a lot of fluff on top of that. Yeah. You can have a rhythm guitar, you can put it, you can have a solo guitarist, you can have a singer, you can have backup singers. Yeah. Without that,
that rhythm section, you don't have an energy grid. That's a great analogy, John, that's quite actually very accurate. The reason why, I mean, base load is actually spelled B-A-S-E, like a, like a, like a first base B-A-S-E. The reason why I put B-A-S-S base load is that, you know,
if you take base out of, like imagine if you took base John Paul Jones out of Led Zeppelin, or if you took, you know, geez, I mean, think of the, like, Jocko or somebody or any, I mean, even the door, even the doors would have a studio basis, even though they didn't have a basis.
But no, just remove the base guitar, the base level instrument out of the, out of the, out of the, out of the song. Okay. It's going to sound weird. There's no, there's no heartbeat, you know, there's no, there's no ability to get the rhythm, right, from the song without the base, right? And so
that is exactly my sentiment on base load generation, you know, conventional generation that can convert, you know, a fuel into, into, into electricity, making it a base layer. So that way we can have reliable generation that can be cheap, and that can be working continuously, right? You know,
I'm a mining machine in particular. I mean, they want to, they want to run 24/7. They don't want to jump up and down all over the place, right? Well, what kind of, what kind of fuel supports that, right? Fuel that supports that are, you know, fossil fuels, you know, those types where I can take,
I can pull rock, a pull piece of rock and say, all right, this rock weighs this. It looks, you know, it's measured this way. And that's, that's, that's what we can do to, and then we can measure, okay, it's going to produce or this X amount of KW for us, through us burning it and there's
efficiencies there and whatever. So, but yeah, that was, that was a big deal. And when I realized really when renewables were coming heavy, heavy, heavy, we real quickly realized, well, where's the base load going to come from? Okay. So that's, that's, and that's what people need to understand
is that every grid, and I'm not talking the whole thing. Okay. It would be nice for it to be the whole thing, but absolutely needs to be, you know, a large piece of the, of the grid, you know, simply because for people, you know, managing demand is so hard. I can't tell, I can't tell you,
John, if you want to take a shower one o'clock in the morning, who's going to regulate that? Well, the utilities, you know, and the, and the generators got to regulate that because you're going to demand that I have hot water through my electric water heater to output me taking a shower,
right? Well, that's a very, that's a very dumb, dumb down analogy. But think about, you know, 10,000 or 100,000. Yeah. Yeah. John's that want to do that or, you know, they're going out, they're going out late at night. Well, there's got to be electricity provider for that,
and utilities need to regulate that frequency. There's no other, you can't tell, you can't tell a wind turbine the turn on. You can't tell a solar panel to release the brake, uncover the solar panels. There's no butt in the press, right? It's just, you know, whatever's available is
available. Okay. If you need energy, and if you need electricity in particular, you're going to throw rocks into a, into a flame that produces through a turbine and spits out energy or electricity out the other end. So you can, you can consume it. Oh, and by the way, that very action needs to
be consumed pretty much simultaneously within a couple, you know, so that's a whole, that's a whole, that's a whole thing. So it's an ever flowing, it needs to be an ever flowing river of energy that we can just dip in and take out when we need it. Because really, we, unless we're going to
build huge battery plants or somehow pump it into the earth, it's got to get used. It's got to be available and we got to be able to, to be able to use it on demand. So kind of like, you know, whenever we, whenever we need that music, we can just turn it on.
I mean, for the most part, yes, that's accurate. I've exhausted all my music, electricity analogies, but I will say, I will say this though, I think part of the themes and one thing that Chet really liked and something that Sarah says is, is these miners that are in
our homes, these miners that are in our garages or our shipping containers, wherever we're setting them up, they are the heartbeat of the Bitcoin network. They are everything that keeps it going.
Without them, we wouldn't have Bitcoin. We wouldn't have a Bitcoin network. And without base load electricity, we wouldn't have Bitcoin. We wouldn't have a, have is not in the way, not in the way that we know it. Yeah, I mean, it's Bitcoin requires electricity, right?
Energy is, is needed to, you know, its energy is, is, is generated to for electricity and then electricity is for mining, right? And just, it's, it's, there's a, there's a ladder there, right?
Yeah. But, you know, electricity is very important to all human life, not just us, you know, it's, it's everybody. I mean, can you think about somebody who's never seen electricity before, and then them seeing it for the first time, their lives have been really changed.
Yeah. Completely changed. You know, I'd like to say in a way that you have changed my life, and hopefully you, that's literally so sweet. Wasn't it? So sweet. You certainly changed the dynamic of pleb minor month with, with the introduction of you just being in the chat and the articles and knowing that any of us, I think, can go to you,
possibly throw you a few sats and say, can you help me out with figuring out my bill, figuring out what these tariffs mean, help me understand the network. And I hope that we can continue to maybe put your articles up on on governmental misfits as they come out every week and just

John's tweet, and then just figured, well, I got this thing sitting in the shed. And I don't really know what I'm going to do with it. I don't know where I'd go. Not to dawks myself too much from South Eastern United States. It's as hot here as it is where Barn Miner is. And, you know, it's,
I'm not going to be heating my home with this thing. I'm dinting all this stuff outside. And I don't know, I just didn't have a use for it. And I'm like, well, somebody might, and I hope I can send it to him. So y'all get that thing away and I'll ship it to him. Well, that's massively
appreciated, mate. That's really cool to see. It's outside of the normal. A lot of people just consume content, don't give back, take all the advice from people and stack the sats and don't do anything else. So to see you doing that is really fucking awesome. Is there a reason that
you're here and doing what you're doing and getting these lovely KYC free sats? Yeah, I mean, at this point, I'm probably mining at a loss, I suppose, but getting the KYC. I mean, I spent, spent some time in the last two years just thinking, you know, I kind of look back at like where I grew up. And
like I said, I'm not going too far into that. But looking back and being like, you know, I had friends in college that bought drugs on Silk Road. And I don't think I ever once heard the word Bitcoin ever. And I don't really know. Looking back on all those years and thinking, I don't
really understand how I didn't see that. I even thought about, you know, doing an aid on account on Twitter, but I figured out, I'll just go with my, then I've had since 2011 that I joined for no reason. And I kind of look back and think, why didn't Twitter give me as my first tweet,
how Finney's tweet of running Bitcoin. And then maybe I would have been like, Oh, what's that? But all those years go by and then 2020 comes around and just saw how much money they're printing constantly. 2008, all that and everything just thinking, I don't know how this is possibly
sustainable. We need a hard money. We need something that we can we can use into the future. Bitcoin really was just very interesting to me. And I think it's the future. So any of my friends that'll listen to me, I'll tell them as much as I know, or at least point them towards
the all's podcast. We appreciate that. And it's Max's podcast, you know, I'm just larping here. It's, it was really special to me personally that that you jumped on and said that you're willing to hash the torch and donate a machine. And through that, you're talking about orange
pilling your friends. And perhaps now you've like done the ultimate orange pill, which I think hashing the torch to somebody given the machine, giving them your knowledge of mining is is the ultimate orange pill, in my opinion. Yeah, clarify that with everything. You're in the you're in the
dirty south. Heat capture isn't as important for you. But it is important. And somebody we're going to bring up here in a second hashing to heating. That's his passion is to do heat capture, to mitigate the costs of mining and also kind of make it more aligned with with some of the green,

Yeah, no, I mean, just thanks. Thanks for having me. Thanks for getting me involved. I was, I don't have a machine to give away necessarily, but I do have some some things that'll be getting sort of released in the next couple days or weeks, like some deals through OSHA app and some stuff
like I'm trying to put together, you know, as far as like a package thing that people can order that maybe aren't the most DIY somewhere in between, you know, you got enough skills, but you still sort of want someone to put a few things together or get some discounts or get you involved in,
you know, like the OSHA app or some other stuff. That's what I've been working on. So, you know, I'm kind of all over the place with some things. I had a little, I'm doing some, some prototyping stuff, trying to find ways to use, to use minors without like on the other side of the scale,
like less, less complicated, finding ways to, you know, maybe move, use them without the noisy fans and some other systems, but keep you posted on that kind of stuff while I'm also diving into the immersion and everything else everybody's doing. I mean, I guess one thing I'd love to throw out
there to all the plebs into every, well, I'm a pleb, we're all plebs to everybody out there who's like doing R&D and doing things in their garage. I mean, I know I pretty much talk on the back channels to a lot of guys. If I'm not already talking to you, reach out if you want to talk,
if you got products, if you got systems, if you got things you want to, you know, try to get to the next level and package them up and sell them. That's kind of what I'm sort of trying to bridge that gap in between manufacturers, other people trying to get some other like real world HVAC and other
manufacturers to look at the technology as well as finding easy enough packaged up things like, like, you know, like tech engineer system and all those kinds of things, you know, snitzels thing and they're all really close to just having it able to be a list of parts that
people can buy and get put together, you know, if we want to sort of start marketing that in a way to the normies or whatever word you want to use there to people that are just kind of a little bit hesitant, you know, that's the way to do it. You know, there's a lot of things in the works,
I think, I mean, just, I already threw the pleb minor month link up on the page and stuff like that. So I just want to say like anybody that wants to throw me things to add to the page, or I do have, you know, kind of periodic updates once a month or something like that, where I'll be
updating the network of plebs and the network of resources and things like that. The site is, does have a search feature, that kind of things have you just want to put in random words and random topics, you can sort of see whatever I've found in that arena. So, I mean, I definitely,
I mean, I don't know, let's say I don't have a green agenda, I have an efficiency. Yeah, you can notice I had struggled to kind of describe the ethos there. No, I mean, I tell you what, it's funny, John, because you know, we're old guys now and I think without getting too deep
into the weeds, I went to school and near John, near where John lives now, and I went to school for environmental science. It was only like the sixth year, like it was ever offered as a state university, you know, course line or something. So it's sort of like I've come through all the
iterations of, you know, different political spin, different, you know, actions on things that have been taken or whatever, you know, I got different opinions, but I love that. I love that we all, we all have the same goals of peace and prosperity, hard money,
a system that makes sense for people to leave to their children, a place that we can live and enjoy together and basics like that. So I mean, there's no, there's always the goals that we try to get to, you know, hopefully I don't ever throw anybody off too much, but I'm like, I'm an instigator
when we're penciled. That's hard. You know, it weather around here sucks, you got to do something, why not be an instigator? Well, I've tried to explain that to people because I lived 25 years out East and, you know, 27 some out West. And if you come out West and you try to like make
fun of people that you're your friends, they get really sad, really hurt. We get sad if you're not making fun of us. That's I tried to explain that to them, you know, I'm like, look, you're around like 10 friends and you're all watching the game and it's cold outside and you're picking
on each other. You know your friends because you're there. You don't have to be reinforced with a hug or whatever it is. So it's like all my Pennsylvania, most of it out of me, to live out in the West because they're all like, would you do it? I'm like, no, forget it. I'm just trying to just be
nice now. So it comes out once in a while, the Pennsylvania. Perhaps that's why you're so good at this specialty that you've chosen. And to me, what makes you such an awesome pleb is that you talk to everybody. So you have that experience of being an East Coast guy, kind of a gritty Pennsylvania
guy and you have that experience of being a West Coast guy. I think it affords you the opportunity to talk to a lot of different people in the way that, you know, it was easy for them to to understand what you mean. You're a good communicator. You've been able to compile an
incredible list of plebs and companies and projects, what they're doing, why it's important for mining, why it's important for heat capture. How do you do it? How do you stay in contact with all these people and keep track of them so well? Well, Twitter, I guess, I mean, it starts with Twitter
because it's, you know, it's, it's mind boggling. We've talked about this a few times on the back channels and whatnot. But it's like, it's only been, like you said, about a year. So since I met you, maybe 14 months at the most, it's actually at a Twitter handle. And I'm like, let me see if
there's some people out there and find coin heated right away, find you right away, find all these people. And now we're like, you know, we've, the goal was to get people to notice hashing to heating or the idea of capturing heat. The goal was to get people to get more into pleb
mining at home because it's still possible. The goal was to maybe get that idea on the national, some my national view, you know, view viewpoint or the national stage, if you would, at least to think about it. And, you know, we've got, by all means, there's many leaders, mint green, super
inspiration to me, crypto mags, all those kinds of people that just sort of, and, you know, Troy Cross and everybody that's kind of like pushing for some of these things to say, oh, there are financial mechanisms out there to help this type of thing. Or there are people that are going to give
different incentive programs or whatever it is, regardless, you know, like, like you said the other day on one of your casts, and we've always echoed this is like, this ESG is a bunch of bullshit, you know, as an environmental scientist person, I'll tell you that it's a bunch of bullshit. A lot
of the shit is bullshit. So like, we've got to clear out the bullshit and go. Yeah, what's what's real and not willing to move this had the best way of putting it and that might be the one you're referring to. Oh, I mean, just yeah, with you guys, just the way you were saying, you know, it was
all once a permaculture. There's all these alternative ways of getting there and not looking to the mass media to tell us and you know, everything that we already know, but it's kind of like, you know, these alternatives are out there. Moses is amazed that the program he's working on and
the project he's working on and things that he's been sending me about asola are, you know, that's the other problem with getting into the space as a, you know, a sustainability type person. I find all these different projects and I'm like, oh, okay, well, that's way more exciting. Like,
can someone else run hashing a heating? You know, not that I'm like, I'm going to do that, but I want to get so excited about everything I see. It's just mine. It just really gives me hope for the future. And I think everybody that's 20 something or whatever else and 30 something and they're
just really working with some local kids that are helping me out maybe a little bit. And they're just, they're really inspired and they're going to do it. You know, it gives me hope and it's turned me around 100% Bitcoin miners, pleb miners. It's turned me around to say like, you know, 80%
humans are doomed to like, oh, 80% we've got a shot, you know, like, we can do this now. So, you know, like, I just had some folks over here just looking at this little prototype thing I'm playing with now to, um, to work to interject with their whole, whole home air exchange system type
things and stuff. So he's, he's actually got one in his house now and I'm going to plug this thing in, in line pretty soon and see what it does for this week. Can you give us a little bit of a preview of its design properties? Um, the idea is a sense, it's super simple. And we're going to
probably maybe package it up with some of those inline fans and things like, um, like the tech engineers system, but essentially take off the, take off the fans, put miners in a contained metal box that has an eight inch or 10 inch or whatever the duck size is of the system itself that it's
going to sit into. So these systems run 24/7. They pull air from a dirty parts of your house and they push fresh air into the other parts of your house for like new modern super tight homes, super tight air efficient, you know, California buildings down the tip stuff. We got these things
all tightened up now and we've got to bring in outside air and exhaust inside stale air. Still much more efficient than having a leaky house. So this is all I'd love to everybody look if you want to get into that kind of stuff building performance Institute. Um, that's where I learned
all the stuff I know about building science and home performance and air movements and combustion safety and all the stuff that I used to kind of freak out about with with home. So I want to make sure that you know building performance Institute kind of looks at all this and it's saying we should
have an air exchange inside the house once about once every three hours or roughly 33 percent of the air changed every hour cleanly ideally. So mostly it's been pulled out from, you know, bath fans and all these types of things. But as we move forward into these more modern homes,
we're going to see this mandatory air exchange systems installed. So now we have a box that has miners inside that as long as it has X amount of CFM or more constantly moving through the box, now we just run the miners through brains or or other hardware software, sorry firmware, whatever,
and control for say Watts or whatever it might be. And so this might be where, you know, I got like Brian Harrington's thing where people are doing their solar and tech engineer same deal or it's comes on and off for a certain amount of hours per day. And it does, you know, all the automated
type wonderful things that are happening. And you can say now instead of selling any of your electricity back to the grid as a solar producer, you can basically cut it right exactly even where your paint bill mining with all the rest and so on. So these kind of that's kind of the idea is
to get rid of the noise by having no fans, but also not having any expense of like the immersion and all those things. So if we can find systems that already move a lot of air and they want to push any heat into that building, then we could integrate these types of things
there as a, what's the, you know, super, super basic. But hey, I know it's been a, it's been a long day with the recordings and things. I don't want it over time. I want to just reiterate, thank you so much. I've got another thing coming out so hopefully soon, like another
web page, it's going to gather up all the builders and the trades and like all the stuff so we can start with data. That's, that's the next, the fact that you're moving on to that phase of your vision and you're, you're hashing to the number two heating website. When you talk to everyone,
who do I talk to? Who manufactures this? Where can I get this part? And everybody's just taken all these random parts from all over the world that are disparate from the systems that we're building and just making it work. And so if you build something like that, oh man, I just see
that really propelling us forward that we have a network of people, a network of HVAC guys and machinists and other skilled trades and manufacturers that understand what it is that we're talking about. So that's probably, I'm very excited for you to build that. Well, hopefully by the, I won't

lempsips and whiskeys. I can see that three or four too many now. We were talking to hashing the heating. And when I see him on Twitter, talking about heat capture and he captured from a machine to an immersion loop or he capture whether it's directing it into your house, he'll always refer
to you. He'll always refer to your guides or your videos. What inspired you to start with the heat capture journey? Really what inspired me was when I first got into this in 2017, I kind of realized that mining potentially is not very profitable. I mean, during the bear market, I kind of realized
that, yeah, I mean, we're seeing that right now, right? Like we're even that the newer gen miners are just barely pushing profitability. So I kind of realized like, look, we got it. We got to integrate this further into systems so that we can make them more efficient in terms of like double spending
energy. So if we can reuse the heat, now we're already spending the energy to heat our house. And we're also mining Bitcoin, like that just kind of made sense to me for a longer term solution to decentralized mining. Because it's just not going to be profitable all the time indefinitely.
The future is just super competitive in my mind, especially at our level. Right. Yeah, I mean, the big miners have efficiencies in scale, right? But when you're talking about a home miner or a small operation, you got to find other efficiencies such as reusing heat. So that's
kind of what started me on the route. I just knew right away, like I want to harness the heat. And it also solved the problem of the noise, you know, putting my first build was my ASIC miner heater up in my attic that I have connected into my HVAC system and all thermostatically
controlled with automation. So it's all automated. It's completely quiet, can't even hear it in the house. And I literally heated my house with Bitcoin miners all last winter. Did you go straight into immersion heating? Or do you ever fuck around with like fan cooling? No, my first build Bitcoin
miner heater in my attic was all air. So I just have an inline fan pulling air through a box, a metal box where the miners sit in essentially. And then I have ducts that can control the flow either to vent it out into the attic or to vent it into the flow that goes into the HVAC and then
pushes it through the house. So I didn't even know about immersion when I first got into this back in, I guess, October of last year. So then after I after I built my first system is when I learned about immersion. And then that kind of opened my idea, my mind to some new ideas. And that's where
I built my proof of concept pool here. And that also worked as well. And so I realized that we can use the heat for many different things. Now the question just becomes like, how do we integrate this? How do we make it robust enough that? I mean, like me as a DIYer that likes tinkering
with this stuff is great. Like I enjoy, you know, maintaining and building. But to go to the next level, it's got to be more robust. And it can't be something that the average person is going to have to maintain, you know, three times a month, right? You see this kind of being something where
someone can buy something off the shelf, have someone come and fit it and it becomes almost you don't have to be a Bitcoiner for it. You just see, well, I need heat. This is the best, most efficient way that I can do it, even if I don't want the sat so I can sell them on. And eventually that
just sort of gets integrated into everyone's life. Or what do you think's the way that happens? Yeah, I mean, like longer, longer term, you know, like 10, 15, 20 years out, I can see like ASIC chips more integrated into the heaters themselves. You know, instead of just a resistive coil,
you might have ASIC chips that are actually mining Bitcoin and producing the heat, but they're fully integrated into the system itself. But in the shorter term, yeah, we need something that's integrating our current miners, which, you know, is a box with the ASIC chips inside,
and that fans push the heat out of we have to kind of use what we have and integrate that to our current existing systems. So I kind of built out a perfect concept for attaching to a home heater and to a pool heater. The next thing I want to try to do is integrate it into a heat
pump, which I think brings a lot of further efficiencies. And we can also try to reuse the existing infrastructure that's already kind of built into a house like the coolant lines that are going up to the heater. For me, that's the most important aspect of the home heating
part is not say, well, we need to rip out everything that's in your home and start from scratch. If you can incorporate somebody's heat pump, that's huge. If you can incorporate somebody's hydrogen existing hydronic system, that's huge. Also, if you can incorporate their existing forced
air HVAC system, throw it in there as an ancillary component in these existing systems. And I think that's more palatable for for the homeowner. I think I lost connectivity for a second. Can you guys hear me? Tech engineer, are you there? Quality stuff. All right.

on about the importance of being able to incorporate these home heating, these mining home heating setups into existing hydronic forced air setups, because it has to be something that isn't too invasive in the someone's home, something that's palatable. They already have
an understanding of what their forced air system is. Oh, down here, I got a heating coil down here, and I have my cold air return. A lot of people know the existing parts of their home setup.
If you were to go into someone's house around here, you'd say, okay, here's your boiler, here's your expansion tank. These are the parts of your hydronic system. These are your radiators.
Yeah, I get that. Now I'm just going to take this box with these machines inside of it, and I'm going to hook this loop up to your existing hydronic system. So I think you're on the right path of what you did in your attic. Well, that's already into your forced air system,
your pool. It's not too much different than what people do when the heats are pools with propane. Yeah, I think that's kind of the idea is to try to utilize people's existing systems as much as possible, not reinvent the wheel and not spend a ton of money. I mean, we all want to maximize the
amount of Bitcoin we're getting, not maximize the amount of money we have to spend to get some Bitcoin. So trying to minimize the amount of work and or equipment we have to install and just integrate into current existing systems, that's kind of what I'm what I've been trying to do.
Have you approached anyone in the trades in the HVAC trades and showed them your setups? Other than just reaching out within the Telegram group, looking for somebody with some HVAC knowledge, that was more for a question on the heat pump for my potential next build. But I have
not really had somebody in the actual HVAC trade come and take a look at my system or anything like that. I haven't had much interaction with with those people, which I do want to talk more with them because I mean, like understanding the refrigeration cycle of a AC or a heat pump is
pretty complicated and learning how to how all that's supposed to work. I mean, it's definitely the type of person I need to be talking with to try to understand that better if I'm going to try to integrate it further in. So it's a weird question to approach somebody with you're out drinking and
hey buddy, you're an HVAC guy. I heard you're an HVAC guy. You want to come to my house and go into my attic and see the goofy Bitcoin system that I have set up? Yeah, exactly. It's a very specific type of person I'd be looking for. When you had put that up in the Telegram group, a
bad dog or dog or he's a general contractor and he has experience in that kind of thing. But it's important work that hashing the heating is doing to compile a list of all the people that are potentially interested in this kind of thing and we can network and bounce things off each
other. I almost think that that could be a conference in itself. You got mining conferences, you got general Bitcoin conferences, but I think we need a skilled trades Bitcoin conference. Yeah, absolutely. And I like what he's doing. I think he's trying to build a
Craigslist of people that know about Bitcoin and one other skill set like an HVAC person or a network engineer and bring them all together. I mean, the way I see it, Bitcoin Twitter is kind of a collective mind. We're all trying to build the same thing and we can bounce ideas off of each
other and it helps speed up our development. I mean, like I built my Bitcoin water heater, or my pool heater and like Schnitzel saw that and he asked me some questions about it and then he kind of did his own thing and like I was telling him, you know, I need that way to interact with
the API so that I can control the miners dynamically based on like a temperature event. And he's like, he's like a really good like web developer and developer. So he just went ahead and just built that integration and then he shared that with me and then I was able to put that back into my
system. And it just creates this information loop and we can just develop and build much faster and collectively. So it's, it's exciting. It's, it's fun. You were one of the first people that I reached out to in trying to plan that pleb minor panel at the conference. And Schnitzel was another one
that I had reached out to initially and you were like, Oh, we're friends, you know, what a coincidence you had reached out to both of us to be a part of that, that thing. I just thought that was kind of gives me that it's really cool. It seems like everybody knows each other in a way. And I like
what you said that Twitter is kind of a collective mind. It can be a collective mind for for shit posting and negative thought as well. But the pleb minor collective mind within Bitcoin Twitter is a really exciting space. And I get jazzed when I see somebody else's home mining set up or
somebody else's small scale set up or go to my YouTube page and look at this thing that I did. And when I saw yours and when I saw Schnitzel set up, I think to myself, Oh man, I'm like an idiot or something. These guys are off the charts with with the power scaling and and Schnitzel's Bitcoin
water heater. I'm just in awe of some of the work that you guys do. How do you feel about the inspiration you take from from other guys? Or when you see somebody set up, do you you kind of have that little bit of FOMO like, Oh, I got to build that too.

telegram group and Austin was in there and you knew Austin and everybody seems to know each other. There's no seven degrees of separation in Bitcoin. It's like two or three degrees of separation.
So Jonathan, can you just kind of tell us what what Decentral is and and what services you provide to minors? Yeah, sure thing. Well, I'll give you the like a bit of our track that got us there. So why are also identified to the plan minor month is because we started with just one machine that
we had the me and my I would say that. Sorry. Sometimes I'll be looking for my words because obviously I'm from the most socialist state in in North America that is Quebec and we're French speakers. So I was with my, you know, the person you live with with that roommate. Okay,
yeah, roommate. Yeah, that's a pipe. And so we bought this first machine was the first gen, the first gen of S9 unit, and we put it we plug it in our microwave socket. And so it was making a lot of noise in our small apartment. So we eventually got to look into buying more of these and got
a got ourselves a room where you could fit 20 of those asics. That was in 2016. So there was not a lot of knowledge about that. Nobody was sharing a lot of stuff back then. And so obviously when we started to to speak with some people know that to cool the place because after four units,
we were already starting to realize that wow, to have 20 units in there, it's gonna require a lot of cooling. So we went with the first mistake of taking ACs to do the cooling. And then later on, we figured out about, you know, just using HVACs to air all that heat out. So we scaled to 80 units
back then, and it started to get serious. We got CBC, which is the state broadcaster that came and visited us to our mining facility. And from there, the phone just started to go crazy. And so we started to look into that and how can we offer services to people like us that are just starting
with the same, you know, ambition back then. And that is why we're called the central is we wanted to decentralize network. It was, you know, it was mainly centralized in China back then. And so we were looking into using Quebec's cheap power, hydraulic electricity, which we knew we had a lot
of surplus of. We were looking into using that to decentralize the network. And so finally, we doubled to about 160 units until there was the Quebec moratorium in 2018, which we've been very vocal about it. If you go back to my Twitter records, you can see I've been doing a lot of,
I've been trying at least to give a lot of education to the different recommendations entities here. And so I tried very hard to educate Quebecers and the institutions in Quebec about mining and what we could foresee with that. Up to this day, the moratorium is still
in place. There is though some small victories where we managed to secure another 300 megawatts that should begin distribution very shortly. And so that distribution, we also fought as small miners ourselves to prioritize smaller projects. And so they put a cap, a hard cap on companies
where they can't ask for more than 50 megawatts at a time. It's not a really victory. But yeah, but back then in 2018, there was Bitmain that was just by themselves looking to buy that 300 megawatt block. So it's, it's kind of a victory where we managed to decentralize more of that
distribution and in more hands. Obviously, I expect like still have a lot of demands from those big players. And we'll see how it will play out. But it's at least kept at 50 megawatts per project.
So in 2018, we managed to buy a company that was having difficulties because of that moratorium. And so we bought that company, which had a grandfather clause with the blockchain permit, which we didn't have. And you need that permit to be able to connect to the grid here and use that
power. Can you let me just interrupt you for a you need a blockchain permit from the province of Quebec or or the electricity provider? Is it a municipal municipal electricity provider? Stay
don't? Yeah. So it's the provider, but it's completely stayed on. They're the only one allowed to distribute that energy. So even if you're an energy producer in Quebec, you have to sell it to the grid at a cheaper rate, obviously, so they can sell it back at a higher rate.
Wow. You weren't lying about the from our vantage point, watching Trudeau and watching the socialist globalist takeover of Canada and never realized things like this were so bad.
You know, I talked to Canadian farmers and Canadian miners and stuff. But wow. Yeah, no, that's frustrating. Do you have any allies like parliamentary allies that fight on your side?
Well, lately, I think and I think COVID the reaction has something to do with it. But you know, we were some of this strictly confined. So we had like a lot of restrictions, even here in Quebec, we had curfews.
I mean, after eight o'clock, we weren't supposed to be on the roads. Like there were laws and they were harassing people, harassing families that were getting together.
So it really was a nightmare. And I think it woke up a lot of people because right now I can definitely see a movement in Quebec and in Canada and Quebec, we have the P.C.Q., which is essentially a new party, a conservative party.
And we have what you guys might know, also by name, which took a lot of position on Bitcoin. And so we can see that movement on the politics sides where we're getting more exposure, our ideas are getting more exposure.
Obviously, it will never be perfect and politics will be politics. But you can see that at least our like way of thinking is at least getting some exposure now. And so it's not as taboo to speak about it.
So you were up to 2019 in your Bitcoin mining journey. And in 2020, you were up to what you said, 160 units? Yeah, so that was in 2018, but we got froze because of the moratorium and we were looking to scale even more than that. We had no, at this point, we started to have investors looking into us.
And so we wanted to scale. Obviously, we were living at that moment. I mean, it was still the first half of 2018. And there was still a lot of positive moves with Bitcoin prices. And so people, the speculators were starting to get excited about that. And we were thinking we were going to 100k at the end of the year.
Oh, yeah. So it was everybody still had their laser rays on. Yeah, yeah. But I mean, that was even then back in 2018. All right, welcome to the lightning round episode of plebminer month. Everybody's on the fucking line. It's a free for all.

Yeah, well, we just got to 2019. And so we started the old stem buying that that stupid permit we need. And so in 2020, we realized there was a lot of need for easy repairs. And that's when we launched the repair line. We moved three times because we had to scale our activities so much.
And I must say that the pleb's has been a very good community for us for repairs because they're much more reliable than institutional players where you can see them choking right now. But I still have every day retail customers passing through my door. And so this is definitely a very resilient clientele.
And I mean, even this date, you have people coming in every day. And in Quebec, there is like, it's not known a lot, I think, but there's a lot of plebminers. There's a lot of people mining at home because obviously the electricity with the grid is cheaper. Canadian dollar is cheaper as well.
And so it makes the dynamic set for a lot of plebminers in Quebec. And so it's been a big part of our business and a big part of our success. And that's why I identified a lot with your movement there with the plebminer month. So essentially, essentially, that's it.
I would have to say one more thing. And it's at the beginning of this year, we got targeted by some organized client and we got like pretty, we received a lot of damage.
So it's something you have to be careful of when you get out there. Obviously, there is going to be a target on you. And so I know a lot of people on this chat won't share a lot of their personal details.
And this is something you have to keep in mind. Once you open that seal, there's a target on your back. And so I just wanted to let our fellow plebs know that before starting to increase your visibility, like we're doing, because we want to secure more business, there's also risk involved in that.

To new plebs. Yeah, for sure. This is something that I started when I came on full time with kaboom racks is I started sending S9s to meetups all over the country. I organized meetups in Arizona.
And I think it's really important for people to learn about mining more on the actual physical and technical side of things versus like the, you know, Lynn Alden, Nick Carter, you know, economic side of things.
Because a lot of people really underestimate how much work is involved in this, how much heat it produces issues with machine downtime and warranty stuff. And you don't really get it until you start, you know, physically mining.
And then there's also a major issue with energy literacy in the country right now. And if that continues where people are just, you know, ambivalent to what's happening with the grid and energy prices, we're going to get totally screwed.
So I'm always happy to talk about mining with normal people. And I think stuff like this is kind of important stuff. Like what you guys are doing is incredibly important to help avoid what happens with, you know, people getting rug pulled at a notorious hosting company.
Yeah, I mean, it happens. It's just a part of mining. Like, you know, they could have had all their ducks in a row or thought they did and then got them rug pulled. It's just part of the industry.
It's a cool thing about Kaboom racks. And I've seen it now firsthand because for a long time, like it was when I'd hear from other plebs, you know, where do you get your machines like, what do you do? I don't know what to do. And I want to get fucked over.
And to be honest, like the people you're mentioning there obviously compass raped so many plebs, myself included pleat fucks. And a lot of why I went with someone like that is I was like, well, they seem like they're going to be a decent enough company, like enough people have the responses and everything else.
And now I, you know, I'd heard about you guys enough times and people that respect it had mentioned you guys enough times. And I'm thinking like, what an idiot, why didn't I just go to you?
And yeah, it's kind of solidified a bit more in my head now that you guys are a proper outfit. And yeah, just a massive thank you for everything that you're doing. No, I mean, it feels good to work in one of the few companies in this industry that strives for integrity. And, you know, we're definitely not perfect.
Things go sideways sometimes because it's a difficult industry to be part of, but we really try and make people whole if we mess up on our end. And I think that's, that's incredibly important.
Low time preference is talked about all the time by everyone. And no one seems to actually stick to it. It's like, it's talked about and every company talks about it. And then they fuck people over for short term gain and you guys have been around for a while and I hear good things. So maybe you guys are doing it right.
Yeah, I mean, I think one of the big ones is something we're instilling in the company and have valued for a while is if we think that somebody's not going to be successful to tell them up front and just discourage them for mining.
And during this month, I've had a handful of people reach out to me and they send me their power bills to look at it. You know, they're paying 18 19 20 cents a kilowatt hour and tell them you shouldn't mind. It doesn't make any sense unless you have, you know, a ton of money and you just don't care.
But I think that's an important attitude to have and kind of go into the long term. Low time preference. It's we want to, as a company, work with people for five, 10, 15 years. We want to sell you equipment. We want to buy back and sell you more equipment and buy back and sell you more equipment and just, you know, continue.
Isn't that with drug dealers? Exactly. Yes. With it as kaboom racks. We have the drug dealer model. It works. S9s are the. Absolutely. That's the gateway drug. Alex does kaboom racks have any promotions going on right now.
What's cheap? How's how the price of a six is now a good time for people that do have good electricity costs and they're already kind of in the game to expand their operation. I mean, it's just so individualized.
One thing that I've been trying to get on. Or get a meme I've been trying to propagate is pricing everything in sat. And that, like, is it a good time to buy an ASIC while it's going to depend on, you know, whatever the Bitcoin, the cuck book, whatever it's trading at.
You know, so might be if the sat to dollar ratio goes down to like 4,200. Sat a cuck book. That might be a fantastic time to buy. But yeah, I mean, why are we pricing things and dollars, you know, and thinking in that way when we know that the dollars screwed and it's not serving us well.
And I think it's, you know, a good time, especially for plebs, you know, because, you know, your goal and mining. I would encourage you to think about it like trying to get more sat in the at the end of the day.
Like that's the play you're buying a long position where you're going to end up, you know, buying more sat. So when you think about it that way and you price them, the ASIC and sat. And like right now, you know, you might with a hundred terra hash machine, you're mining somewhere close to a million sat a month.
And that's going to be diminishing with the upward difficulty adjustment. And then you factor in your power prices and you price it in sat. Then you can kind of calculate an ROI that I think is a lot more effective than, you know, pricing and dollars.

and one will go in mine and then I'll just can still continue to at least heat the garage over winter and then talked about maybe if I put in some concrete next year, maybe heating the concrete in my driveway because I'm going to have a lot of heat to dissipate.
So that might be something or just plumbing it into the house. Haven't really decided that yet, but I'm really curious to share with you guys. I'm kind of hoping. I mean, I don't really see a reason why this dry cooler won't work, but if it does work, I'll share it with you guys because I mean, why don't you one up that and you and your
boy come down here and just build one for me. Yeah, we can do that. So far, we basically sequestered everything from local, you know, some stuff Amazon, some stuff locally. We basically have it all set up.
It's mocked up at this point. We just have to make sure we get some fluid running through it and see if it's going to work properly. But I don't see why it's not going to. We're doing it with something a little different.
We're actually pulling air through the cooler instead of sucking it through. So yeah, it's just a little bit of a different setup, but we'll put a little bit of plan around. I think we'll have our nailed down.
I don't doubt that whatsoever. Yeah. We're going to overclock like S19. Is that what you're planning on doing? I actually run what's miners. Not planning on overclocking right away. Like I'm still looking into that side of things.
I know some software has kind of dropped a little bit and you can find it here and there. But right now it's mostly, I just want to quiet them down. I want to be in this for the long haul, so get the best, you know, the longest running.
Yeah, you're set up for whenever you need to, if you need to. But yeah, the what's miners, I think I've seen people say that you can get it from micro BT if you ask them. Right. That's not specific.

Yep. Yeah. I'm almost to that point. So we'll see what happens here in the next month. Bing wonk shortly after our recording. You came down to, to this major city here in western Pennsylvania.
One of the best cities on the planet. And we had a little meet up with barn miner who didn't think that it was one of the best cities on the planet. He, he, he was, you know, saying how, how dirty, dirty it is.
And there were hippies and homeless people on the side of the road. And he wanted to get out of town as quickly as possible. But hopefully, hopefully our, our little impromptu Bitcoin meet up made him change his mind a little bit.
I hope so. I mean, it's not sunny all the time, like where he lives, but you know, we, we have our, we have our niche here in the north. We do, we do have our niche and we just certainly have a niche for, for heat capture, which is something that he really can't get done down there in the dirty south barn miner.
How, how do you, how do you dissipate heat? What's your secret? What's the barn look like? We just waste it. We blow it out of the barn and that's about it. So I, after I get phase two, because phase one wasn't enough and I under planned how many miners.
I'm going to dig into looking into looking into some immersion, but it's kind of, kind of far off the, off the list. But I honestly, I can't do anything. I could heat maybe my water heater or a pool if we had a pool.
But I mean, there's no sense in heating a pool and it's already 80 degrees for most of the year. Bathwater. We don't, we don't want a hot tub. We can go to the Gulf of Mexico for the hot tub. It's warm enough as it is.
Barn miner, a lot of people don't know and I put it out there, but, but you didn't exactly pick it up and advertise yourself, but you also gave a machine away for pleb miner month. So don't mean to put you on the spot, but I think some, some credit is, is due there to you for being so kind to, to give a machine away.
Yeah, I was happy to. We do like down here, I have locally, we try to do, I have one that floats around. It's still with the one person that kind of the hash the torch deal we got going on.
So I just think it's, I think it's important to get them out there in people's hands and let them play with them. It's not, I just think it's a, they don't like it. They don't use it. They can pass it on to somebody else.
So I think, I think it's a great plan. You're not only hash the torch physically with a machine and stuff, but you're always on the home mining wizards group helping people out there. Yeah, it's been kind of consuming. I just, once, once I hopped on early, when it was first started, it was, it was kind of a lot smaller.
I think that's when I met Zuck for the first time. We were communicating over, over that group and just kind of dove in and enjoyed helping people and researching. If somebody had a question, I didn't know the answer to you. I would look it up just to learn it.
It's been a great learning experience. No doubt. plebminer month, I've also called you a founding father of plebminer month, which I certainly consider as we continue to do different things.
Max and I do different things with, with mining and plebmining and who knows, for another plebminer month, you're a founding father and you're, of course, always welcome to interact on plebmining whatever we're going to call it in the future.
Sweet. Yeah, it's good. It's been fun. I don't feel like I've done too much. I know, I learned a lot about podcasting when I had to do a couple simple recordings that took like an hour to do five minutes.
So I've got a totally different perspective of what Max deals with on a daily basis. One of the aspects of the month was going to be a kids section, which didn't come to fruition in this iteration of plebminer month, but Sarah is working on some things with a group to do some kids education.
But you did record it a couple pods with your daughter talking about different principles of mining. What was that like? It was fun. To be honest, I was a lot more excited than she was. She kind of more did it for dad because he asked, she would ask to, but it ended up being really fun, just trying to record and not laugh and being silly.
But it also made her learn, you know, do some, I made her do some research and then we got to kind of do a little Q&A. So it was really fun. It was a fun experience. It got her a little more interested or had her understand kind of what I've been doing because I'll spend all this time, you know, on the computer.
And I forgot what she said. She made a comment in one of them. It was like on the computer and stuff. But I can't remember the exact phrase. I'd have to listen to it again. But it's asking her if it was simple or something like that.
But it was good. It got her a little bit more educated. And so hopefully I'll get her a little bit more involved. Maybe do some more. I know that your son has been involved as well and got an injury from mining.
He's actually shed blood for the Bitcoin network. He has cut his thumb. He stuck his finger right inside of that fan. And I still to this day don't know what the hell he did. But supposedly he was setting something down, but I don't know why he would set anything down near one of those fans.
But finger went straight through the plastic grill that I had on there and chopped him right into thumb. I call bullshit. Yeah. I think he was trying to see if it hurt. Yeah. I think he was trying to see how strong those aftermarket 3D printed fan fan guards were.
What didn't need stitches? So that was a good thing. Well, good. What do you think? Do you think we achieved what we wanted to achieve on a base level for a pleb minor month? I know we didn't get all the kids stuff done. I know there were some technical issues and whatnot throughout the month.
But I think personally the feeling got out there. What do you think? Yeah, I agree. I feel like it was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. There's been a lot of people involved just following and reaching out to me and to you guys and saying thank you.
And I think it's fired up a couple at least, I don't know half a dozen new new at home liners. If we did, that's perfect. But I think there's a lack of resources or there's resources out there. They're just all over the damn place.
It's really hard. It's hard for somebody who wants to learn to find all that. It just takes a lot of digging. I mean, there are a couple great guys that produce good content and web pages. They're just not any central point or group.
I mean, you have to add home the wizards group, which is great, but it just feels like we're spread out everywhere. And I think that this month has helped kind of bring people together. I agree. And it's brought all the guys in the pleb minor month group.
I think it's brought all of us together. I know a lot of these guys so well now. It feels like, you know, I mean, I've kind of known you for a little bit of time and home mining wizards and maybe sending a DM or so back and forth.
But look, now we met physically, now we've collaborated together and worked on projects and I'm excited for the future, whatever projects that we come up with and collaborate together. I look forward to that.
I agree. It's just the whole mining subset of Bitcoiners has been a learning experience and also some lasting friendships, which has been pretty sweet. You know, it's one thing to communicate, like you said, over a telegram, but the best thing is in person looking at, you know, shaking hands, looking at each other in the eyes.
Not in the way that you end up being a long word to talk about today. It was deeply meaningful. Barminer, I appreciate it. Tell your son that if he had got fan guards printed from Zuck, maybe that wouldn't have happened.

I printed one up this morning too. I'm spinning a wheel as we speak. What kind of wheel? You printed up a Bob Barker wheel. I believe that you did. Life size too. Life size. You got some really good machines.
Yeah. Yeah. You printed a mic stand as well. I just saw in the group. Yeah. So this is a mic I used for building speakers a long time ago. And I apparently lost parts for it. So I was going to rig it up this morning.
And I didn't have one. So yeah, I had to make that quick. What did like, it's almost like a superpower. Being able to design things. You are a machinist by trade. Yeah. Yep. That's the day job.
To me, you have like a superpower. You can just, I imagine something. I can design it. I can put it in CAD. I can send it to this machine and it will create it for me. Yeah, man. I mean, I've been doing the CAD thing since, I don't know, early 2000s.
And so when I discovered 3D printing three or four years ago, I was like, oh, hey, I can, you know, do this digital not real life thing, make it real life. So yeah, it was an easy fit. How do you transition to mining parts?
Fan shrouds is one thing. I think we've got that covered. Do you ever imagine different setups that you can say, well, I can design a part? I'm not even talking about 3D printing well, but machining something.
How many parts go through your head that you envision you could implement in a home mining setup or a small scale setup? I think when you start looking at the immersion stuff, there's a lot of things that you could do mixing manufacturing techniques.
Something like, who was it? Schnitzel was talking about potentially cooling. He was. Yeah. And then he started explaining it a little bit. And I was like, that sounds fucking awesome. And then I brought it up in a couple of other pods.
And I don't think anyone knew what the fuck I was talking about. I think I was just waffling. But I'm sure he said it. And if it is possible, that's incredible. Yeah, man. I heard that. And so like where I live, I pump the heat into my furnace.
But during the summer, the electric rate is kind of ridiculous. So I unplug in the summer. And so I'm like, well, how can I convert this to cooling? You know what I mean? Or use it in some other way.
And cooling is really the only other thing I've been able to think of. So I mean, it's kind of like a refrigerator in reverse almost maybe. Schmidt, are you there? Can you just clear this up, please, mate?
I'm here. Hello. Oh, he's here. Nice. He is here. His ears were burning. Just a little, yeah. Well, thanks for coming on, mate. And thanks for bringing this up. I've never heard one other person talk about cooling with mining until I spoke to you.
Or since. Yeah, it's just like, I mean, I have not done it yet. So give me maybe a couple of weeks, maybe a couple of months, but two weeks. Oh, we want it right now. Okay, wait. It's cold.
No, I mean, like anybody that has an RV that has a fridge in the RV, most probably these fritches are cooled by propane gas. So if you look in the back, there's a little flame that heats up some kind of liquid, and that somehow creates cool.
So I mean, if it works, if it works in a fridge size, it should also work in a house size now. So there is a physical way to create from heat. There is a way to create cool. And so why should this should work somehow?
So again, I'm not like a specialist in any of this, but I just look at the world and count one plus one and this equals three. Well, yeah, if that can be, if that can be done in an RV, I guess you're right.
Why can't it be done elsewhere? So we're kind of missing a trick though, if this isn't being done, because I'm thinking if we can use the heat, like all miners who are pumping heat out are doing it because it's already generally hot where they are and they have no use for the heat, meaning that what
they need is something to cool their miners or themselves. So it like, it seems like it should be a fucking huge thing. Can we just not fix it in the next five minutes and make a prototype or something?
I mean, it does exist in data centers. So I've been in data centers that, so the technology is called absorption chilling. And there are data centers out there that take the hot and then convert it into cool heat again that they use for keeping the data centers cool.
Now, in my understanding is that you need cool water. So you can't really use, you can't use hot air. You need hot water. And I think the problem is with most of the big miners, they use heat, air cooling.
And so then converting it into water would be just complex. And so that's probably, I assume, why people don't do it. But yeah, if you Google for absorption chiller or data centers absorption chilling, you will find pictures and people that actually do this.
Given that there are no standardized ways of doing a lot of this stuff, you have in your lab schnitzel. I've had to create different parts, you know, in your Nakamoto heating solutions. I've seen, you know, you have an S9 kind of a vertical in a tray and you have little pumps coming up to it and you're tapping off to that.
Where do you see how 3D printed parts fit into that? And where are you going to have to like transcend 3D printed parts and actually get parts machine? Those are certain things that just don't work out in the 3D printed space.
Good question. I mean, I definitely right now, like, I was always wondering, how can we use the S9 casing, so the aluminium casing that is around this? How can we use this more clever to use less oil?
Because specifically as a plant miner, the really important or the really expensive part is the actual oil. And I've talked to people like in other countries or other continents and they have a really hard time getting the specific oil to them.
And so using the casing was this idea that like if we could inject the oil from the bottom and yeah, turn the miner upside down, then we could use the casing as like almost the container that keeps the oil.
And so and the problem is though, like you need some way to a in check the oil but also make sure it doesn't squirt out on the side. Like you couldn't just like duct tape it anyway because it wouldn't it wouldn't like.
Yeah, it wouldn't seal off. So and 3D printing is the perfect thing there because well you can a rapidly prototype and and so and also it can be printed anywhere in the world. Like you literally just need a 3D printer.
The cool thing is also like you don't even need to own a 3D printer. You can just find somebody online that can 3D print it for you. So that's what I'm excited about that if people want to use this like I call them like the injector plates and that can really help to reduce the amount of oil you need, anybody can do them.
And so yeah, in terms of making it mass production, I mean, again, I'm not I'm not the specialist there, but I guess I understand like, yeah, if you would like to make like 100 or a thousand of these pieces, probably inject them molding works better.
But then again, you need to ship them. And so I think at least for flat miners, it's probably much easier to just yeah, find yourself a 3D printer. I mean, they get so cheap these days, like it's almost crazy.
Like it's almost almost almost the same to not have one. And so yeah, you just printed yourself. You must have a product of the year. Oh, totally. Yeah. I mean, I started like in 2010 or nine, like with a solid doodle.
Like that was like the first 3D printer that existed. And I'm like, yeah, I understand why people didn't have that. But now like you can buy like an ender, which is like the standard ones that you can buy it pretty much anywhere.
And it costs you're not even like a couple of hundred dollars and which is 3D print. I wasn't going to ask luck, but he looks like he had to run what we would need to do to machine something like that.
I have seen some designs where you can and I don't know if maybe Bing Bong was telling me about this, where you can take cards off of different machines and get a different control board like a control board that can handle four or five cards and run fluid through that case.
Have you seen that design? So the only thing I've looked at is that if you actually look at the control boards of an S9, it has six connectors, but only three of them are used. And I've heard of people that they just sold around more connectors and you can supposedly you can run up to six hashboards, not just three, which is the standard.
And so yeah, you would need to have some kind of other casing, but yeah, that's not very hard. Like if you know a little bit of 3D modeling, where again, like you will find videos on YouTube all over the place to how to do this, it wouldn't be very hard to create some other casing for them and you could run six of them.
I think the problem is that you need to know like how to solder and that's probably what most people don't know, but it should be possible. Throughout this conversation and talking to hashing, the heating and a couple of the other guys tech engineer, when we get to the point where we're able to, okay, have a product
now, I need to get into the design phase and I know a lot of those finished products need to be modular. So here you have this modular case that can take two, three, four, five cards depending on your heating needs, how many watts or how many BTUs do you need.
Okay, I'm going to recommend a three card unit, but it's all the same unit, it all ships the same. So perhaps just the guts can be changed out. Totally, yeah, that would be cool that you have like, I mean, these are all things, like if you look at blade servers, you're basically describing a blade server, right, right, right.
So yeah, no, I think that would be, yeah, the part that I'm really excited about is like, you know, today, if you want to do anything with mining, you're basically stuck with whatever and minor or what minor exists.
But in the future, if Intel and Samsung, I think both of them are working on creating chips as well. That's what I understand as well, yeah. I mean, if we can like have custom builds, like I'm dreaming of a water cattle with a bit kind of minor inside that you can like, you can get some sets while cooking some water
for your tea in the morning, or who knows, maybe a blow dryer or a head dryer with some chips inside, like that's going to be the future and that's what I'm excited about. I'm excited too.
And I'm excited that we got to hear from you for pleb minor month. And we got to hear your view and tech engineer's view and hashing to heeding's view and Bing Bong and born minor and all these guys that are working on slightly different things.
And I feel like when we all talk to each other in this way, there was just like one thing that I was missing, Schnitzel has that. Here's this other thing that I'm missing, Zuck knows how to print and design that.
Here's that other thing that I'm missing, like this collective mind that we have that was mentioned earlier in the conversation. Oh, yeah. No, it feels like it feels like we all live like in a really big house and we're in different rooms.
And if you need something, you just walk over and you knock on the door and it's like, hey, don't you even have any like thought about this? They're like, Oh, yeah, no, I've already solved it three times.
Here's how you do it. So yeah, no, but it's, it's exciting to saw, to share all this and to invite more people to this community and yeah, get, distribute the hash rate in the end because, I mean, I said it many times as, as great that it is to have these big companies, the, the real future is going to be all of us mining our home.
And I think the faster we get there, the better. I think Schnitzel just wrapped up pleb minor month for us. I think so may beautifully done. It was well done. That wasn't even planned. You just did it.
