Everyone is cynical and suspect of Bitmain’s intentions here.

(upbeat music) - Bitcoin is close to becoming worthless. (tires screeching) - Let's go. (tires screeching) - Now what's the Bitcoin? - Bitcoin's like rat poison. - Yeah. - Oh. - The greatest scam in history.
- Let's get it. - Bitcoin will go to fucking zero. (tires screeching) (laughing)
(upbeat music) - Bled minor monthly in orgoral. - In orgoral. It means the first one. Season one, episode one. I could have Bled minor monthly. I was just checking just to make sure that you weren't lying.
But yes, it is the first. And I'm absolutely pleasure to be sat down with you, mate. It's a pleasure to be sat down with you as well in our new Bled minor monthly studios. Why not she isn't used to you, though, as well?
- Yeah, me too. - Yeah. We've got foam padding everywhere. Got a producer in the corner. It's real legit. Mr. Producer, how are you? - I'm fine, how are you? (laughing) - That was why I was just checking to see what that meant, because yes, that was a lie, because I can see you'll video stream, so.
- Oh, it was definitely a lie. Sorry. - Shit. So, um, what is this show? Why have we put this upon ourselves and the plebs? That's a fucking good question, mate. I think we both enjoy pain.
- Yeah. - Yeah, we're a masochist. The thing was it was a long discussion after Pled minor month, and we said, you know, that was easy. That was a breeze. (laughing) I must spit out my whiskey.
(laughing) Yeah. (laughing) And then it was just a case of saying, you know, what is the best time to launch a new show, especially around mining? We were like, oh, well, you know, there's not enough pain quite yet, and then now there is no better time.
You have plebs crying, turning off machines, all sorts of shit going on, and I just think we both enjoy the pain and misery, and there's no one I'd rather be miserable with than you, so here we are.
- That is the nicest thing you've ever said to me. - Yeah. - And it will be. - I'm gonna need a moment. - That's it. (laughing) Well, don't take too long, 'cause the other thing is with this show is an hour.
That's it. We have one hour. - Mm-hmm. - We're not asking for much. So what we're doing here, the show format is a little bit different. It's not gonna be your typical hour, hour and 15 minute interview with a pleb.
It's more of like a traditional radio show where we'll have different spots and bits, so throughout listening to the episode, if you hear music, it's not the end of the show. It's the intro to another bit.
And bear with us as we get our bearings, as we steer the ship here and figure out what the fuck it is that we're doing. So four sections, each section, yeah, we'll have its own clip and theme to it.
The main thing is we don't want it just to be like a rambling conversation. Like we do want this to be the place that people can come and learn what they need to know and have a bit of fun doing it.
There's a lot of pain out there, so if we can have some fun while learning, everyone's happy. Hash price is low, plebs are turning off machines. If you need a shoulder to cry on, we're here for you.
We're listening. You'll there. Oh, cry by yourself. Oh man, what a hard ass. Before we get started with the show, Max, I want to talk about the sponsors a little bit and you can chime in on this too.
It took us a while, and I think we had announced the show a long time ago, but one of the biggest impedances to starting the show was finding the right sponsors. Sponsors that we could have a long-term relationship with, that we felt passed the plebe litmus test, those that we can align with spiritually.
(laughing) Do you follow in with our sponsor spiritually? I do. I've spent a lot of time on my horoscope as well, making sure that things will work out and Mystic Meg seems to think so. It's been difficult to find good quality businesses that are providing really good quality service and that I'm happy to put my name next to
and be associated with is getting harder and harder. There's just so many scammers and bullshitters out there, and yeah, it's been difficult, but I'm very, very happy with the people we found and I hope this would be a long-term relationship and the people I do feel comfortable sending friends and family
and I think you do as well, so that's key. Definitely, you're used to this kind of thing with having a successful podcast for a long period of time and different sponsors throughout. But of course, this is my first foray and we had long conversations with these people before we took them on as sponsors.
Texts back and forth or calls on Jitzy or Zoom, so we all kind of qualified each other and I know that I can talk about these sponsors and promote them. One reason when you'll hear throughout the episode that we have a long-term relationship already with some of these people, that's very important.
They're our supporters of Pledge Minor Month. And also, it's really important to note, we want sponsors that look after the people that listen to this show and we have made it very clear to these businesses that we're gonna say exactly what the fuck we want and we're not gonna censor, we're not gonna change anything.
And if anybody does have any issues with these people, we do wanna know. We really wanna make sure that this show is a long-standing show and that we look after the people listening, so let us know, but very, very confident that you won't have that and people will be happy.
During Pledge Minor Month, we had a lot of shows and even after you've had a few shows on bit-by-bit pod and we have been remiss to read a lot of the Fountain Boosts, so let's start the show off with some Fountain Boosts.
The first boost was from, these are often the Pledge Minor Month finale, the five-hour-long finale that we had. The first boost was from Bon at Bon on Fountain's fucking guy. Oh, we love him, come on.
What a finale and recap. Big shout out to everyone who produced Pledge Minor Month, Max, John, Sarah, Mr. Crown, all the guests, Torch hashers, the peeps and companies that donated prizes and all the supporters and listeners.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening, reading and participating. Whenever a new episode or article dropped, which resulted in winning some swag, which Bon did win some swag, thank you. I look forward to the edition of the monthly show, which we are doing right now.
Wow, precious. And more of John getting thrown under the bus for any technical issues, 20,000 sets. Then apparently that wasn't enough 'cause he had an addendum here and it says, fuck it, it's the finale, value for value, which I got a lot of from this whole series.
Here's me showing my appreciation. Value for value is the optimistic future I see and he added another 30,000 sets. So that's a total of 50,000 for Bon. Thank you, Bon. Love you, brother.
- Yeah, thank you, Bon. - Thank you very much and apemithrendir. Really enjoyed the series, great work, by all involved. Max, keep up the work, 20,000 plus one sat. - Plus one? - Often he is sending messages and sats, so thank you.
- He does, he's a big spender. - He is. - And like I said, Max, keep up the good work. - Yeah. - Next one's from Barnminer, never heard of this guy. I enjoyed it, even running like four hours after my scheduled talk, John points me out specifically.
(laughing) - Honored to be a part of it, gents, maids. (laughing) He included both of us in our colloquialisms. - Yeah, that's pretty sweet. - 20,000 sats. - Cats be cool. Thank you for plug mine a month.
I have learned a lot and have a new project to work on. I'll definitely reach out when I need help, 500 sats. Okay, you need to send more sats if you want to. - If you want any help. - There's a 501 sat minimum for any help.
- That's plus one. - That's spiral. So many blamminers. - Thank you. - Follow. - Woot. - I don't know how to pronounce woot. How would you say woot? - I wouldn't. I'm British. (laughing) - Of course, my Dr. Jones.
- Klaus. - 500 sats. - Yeah, I've wondered if he's related to Klaus Schwab. I was just thinking that, might be. - @Norman Remnant, the crazy electrician. The Skilt Trades Bitcoin Conference, 100 sats.
Yes, let's do it. Letter 6173, really enjoyed the whole month. 7,777 sats. - Juicy. - Next episode that was boosted was the orange pill simulator, which I really enjoyed that episode, by the way.
- Yes, I did a really good job on that. - Urban hacker. - You did, so did urban hacker. (laughing) - Yeah, he's fuckin' awesome. - Okay, @Lumor gave a good signal on this one, 1000 sats. - Marcellus, thank you for introducing us such interesting guests, 1000 sats.
- Yeah, he didn't say Max was interested, and he said your guest was interesting. - Yeah, I can confirm. - All right, no doubt, there you go. Spiral, again, sounds awesome. I would love a beta test, and that would be of Urban Hackers, video game, Bitcoin video game that he designed, 333 sats.
- Coming soon. - Dr. Jones Klaus Schwab again. Thank you for telling hosts, not everyone is a hacker, and sometimes we don't understand anything about what we are doing on Linux. Again, I can confirm.
- That's a message of all the smart people. We're not all smart, you know. Apemith Randir, again, back to a solid one. I love this one, back to a solid Max-led pod. Interesting guest, 2001 sats.
(laughing) A guy likes his plus one sats, but I read that the other day, back to a solid Max-led pod, and it was fucking joker he was hanging around. (laughing) - The man's got taste, what can I say?
- Yeah, undeniable. - Bitcoin monthly show @Vake. Love the monthly technical project recaps very useful content, 20,000 sats. Thank you, Vake. - Dan confirm. Apemith Randir, tail scale. I don't know what that means, but he seems smart.
Very interesting. I have been struggling with Tor. He'll try this, 7,777 sats. - Yeah, I think tail scales a way that you can connect back to your home network, but not using Tor, and it's still private.
But I don't know enough about it. That is a Q&A. Q&A and Antomisk are gonna have to explain that again, yeah. Mr. G256, ooh, see we done there. Great job, gents, 100, and 1,000 sats. Mr. G, that's my man.
That's my garbage man from New York. - Yeah, guys, Mr. Recycle. Dr. Jones quals. Evas, really enjoying this thing's a monster show. 250 sats. You think the head of the world economic forum can come up a little bit more than 250 sats.
(laughing) For the cousin. (laughing) I'm just a cousin. I don't have so much money, yeah. - He will have nothing, and you'll be happy. - Happy, he's the buds. - You'll love it. - Totem Polls, Proof of Work, and Bitcoin.
Vake again. - Fucking out, Vake. - Yeah, but 10,000 sats. Just says nothing. - Yeah, he does. - He's awesome like that. - 8 Myth Randir. V4V. Did you get a tattoo of that? V4V. Mm, pass. 7,777 sats.
- Barn minor, 1,000 sats. Teaser. Spiral, fantastic project, 333 sats. Valley dog, peace and love. - Peace and love, peace and love. And Bitcoin too. - It sounds though. - Oh, I don't know, I forgot to write it down.
I'm sorry, a million sats. - Peace and love is enough. - He actually donated a whole Bitcoin. - Oh, thank you very much, Valley dog, free coin. - And Bitcoin coop with 100 sats. And now, we have statistics.
(upbeat music)
Statistics. Statistics. I'm gonna tell you the basics for hashing with basics. Bitcoin minor statistics. (upbeat music) Statistics. Statistics. I'm gonna tell you the basics for hashing with basics.
Bitcoin minor statistics. (upbeat music) Statistics. Statistics, it's simple mathematics. Statistics brought to you by linkoin pool. All statistics are provided by linkoin lens, that's lens.linkoin.com.
First up, we have global hash rate. Global hash rate is in at 273 exahash with a network hash rate of 277 exahash. Difference between the 273 and the 277 is something to do with who reports all of their hash rate.
So if you aggregate all of the big mining pools, you're gonna get the 273 exahash and then everybody else who's kinda dashed in there gives us our 277. Linkoin pools hash rate is 580 petahash, which is pretty good.
And it's number 17 pool worldwide. And that comes from mining pool stats.stream. Over the past month, the highest daily average hash rate has been 273 exahash, and that happened on December 9th.
And the lowest was 232 exahash on November 28th. - That's really interesting, thanks, Mike. - Mm-hmm, it is interesting. To me, difficulty, currently difficulty threshold is 34.24 trillion, which is 7.6% lower than the previous difficulty of 36.95T.
Just a note of interest max. I don't know if this interests you, but it should. Difficulty adjustments have a high limit of no more than 300% adjustment upward and no more than 75% downward.
So the next difficulty adjustment, everybody, don't worry, it's not gonna be more than 300%. We're all gonna hang in there. That's fascinating. Yeah, I think so. Next up, only adjustment retarget is to take place on December 19th.
So by the time everybody hears this episode, we will have had an upwards adjustment. Wha, wha, wha, wha, sorry, everybody. We're pretty much going back to where we were before. Ooh, that's why we're here.
Big John's shoulder is there, it's a cryon. Yeah, cryon mine, max a diet a fuck off. Hash price with Bitcoin in the mid 17s, in which that's about where we are right now. We did jump over 18 yesterday to see that.
Did you sell all your sets over 18? I never had any of the first place. Just say lop, lop, Bitcoin in the mid 17s, around $6.40 a day per 100 tera hash. So you jam that machine on full blast at 100 tera hash and it's gonna generate you $6.40 a day.
But really, who cares about that? Because the important number is you get 36,724 sets per day per 100 tera hash. Ooh, that's what mess noise. Yeah, you sell in the second, you get your reward.
What kind of cuck bullshit is that? Machine profitability. And this is the expected amount of sets per day that you're gonna get. And we're gonna give you some machine prices. Some popular profitability and cost to mine at various rates and break even.
Using the minor compare tool on Link Point lens. And on that tool on Link Point lens, you can kind of just select whatever minor that you're looking at. And it'll break down all these statistics for you.
I actually like this bit, do you? Yeah, it's the one bit in the show where you've written it up. And I just went, fuck, I really like that a lot. It's hard to please you. 'Cause you're so generally, generally miserable.
Yeah. A miserable fuck. But when I saw this, I thought, that's brilliant. That's an interesting start. I agree. We have the granddaddy of minors, the S9. I just put that in there because, I know it's an entry level machine.
And once you start to learn about this stuff when we gave a lot of S9s away for Club Minor Month. How many? I think eight. I think eight. We had a target of 10, but I don't know. I'm not gonna math and something happened.
We didn't give a one away in the EU. We're failures. You only gave away eight machines, losers. Anyway, if you received one of those eight machines, you can expect to get 459 sat today. These machines are now about $100 a piece.
I think on Kaboom Racks, if you contact Alex. At Kaboom Racks, Alex, I think you can get three for $100 a piece. Ooh, yeah. And that ends up being about $7.50 a tera hash. Your break even price though on an S9 is 2.5 cents.
So if you're not getting 2.5 cents, kill a lot of hour. You're a loser. Yeah. Little bit. Hey, let's go to a better machine though. We have the M30S++ from What's Minor. That's gonna give you $3,740.
Nope, see, did that wrong. That's gonna give you $37,400 a day. And they're running about $1,888 on Kaboom Racks. And I know that because they just put this up yesterday. Alex put that up on his Twitter and on his telegram that you can get an M30S++ for $1,888.
What a kitschy price point. And they get a shitload of them for sale. Like something about like $7,800. Isn't there a casino? I don't know. Where? Probably. In Las Vegas. I don't know. I just feel like I've seen it.
Nevada. I used to love gambling. Ugh, not me. Not me, too. Not me, too. Right here I am with all these miners in my house. Oh, I don't like gambling. It's st-st-st-st-st-st-st. Roll them dice, baby.
Your break even electricity price. And I hate to do this to you, Max. But I don't say "pence" at all. Throughout any of this, I'm reading it's all cents and dollars. You gonna be able to figure this out?
I live on a sat standard. Yeah, that's my man. 7.2 cents is your break even on an M30S++. An S19J Pro 96 Terror Hash is gonna get you 32,640 cents a day. And I saw one of those also on Kaboom Racks from Kaboom Racks Alex at 1,800 bucks.
Which little secret I bought, I bought one of them. Did you? Did you pay 1,800? I did. But I also got free cables. So, ooh. Your break even price on that is 7.9 cents. So if you don't have 7.9 cents and you sell your rewards every day, you're not breaking even.
Okay. But 7.9 cents in America is about, about what you pay isn't it or 8 or 10 or something? And it seems like between like 10 and 12 cents a kilowatt hour. Oh really? Yeah. Yeah, it's going up quite a bit.
Okay. Here's a caveat to that. If we're at $50,000 Bitcoin, that's a $9 a day machine. If we're at $100,000 Bitcoin, that's a $27 a day machine. So keep everything in perspective. Good point.
One day we will be there. When is that? I'm still going to plan B prediction here. One day. One day. I'm willing to go out on a limb here and say one day, one day. And that's 19 XP, 140 terra hash.
That's going to get you 47,600 sats a day. That's a 10 cent break even. So 10 cents is, you can attain that here in the United States. But if we're at $100,000 Bitcoin, that's $42 a day. How many sats?
Oh, we said that 47,000. Well, I don't know. Why don't you go on the sats converter? Well, figure that out. We covered this earlier, Bitcoin Q&A needs to sort of fucking life out because Android.
Just go through it now because you're the one who's bitching about this earlier. What's the one who's bitching about it? Let me bitch a little bit Q&A. When I open up the sats converter, it automatically populates one sat.
So say I want to enter in 200,000 sats. I have to first erase the one then enter in 200,000. Come on. What are you doing? You can do better than this. You can do that. You can. It's supposed to be smart.
Yeah. Well, even smart people fuck up sometimes. Yeah, that's true. In a dot guide forward slash convert. Check it out. And then obviously just write to Q&A and just say check check check check check check it out.
An M50. That is the newest what's a minor machine is going to get you 106 tera, 126 tera hash. They actually have a few of them. It's like 126 and then a few other, you know, up or down from there.
You're going to get 42,840 sats a day and I saw some of them on some of the telegram groups for $2,700. That's $22 a dash. And you're breaking for that thing is 9.3 cents. So on all these machines, you can go ahead and pick a machine and go on a link coin pools, link coin lens and figure it out for yourself.
All of these statistics, speaking of link coin pool, link coin pool is leading FPPS Bitcoin mining pool. They have FPPS rewards with steady payout and I can verify that. It is a nice steady payout.
You don't have to worry about pool luck. It just boom. There it is. You know what your pass rate contribution is and you also know what your payout is going to be. So you can, you can budget things a little bit easier.
They have advanced management tools, best in class, real time monitoring. And I can confirm that because I turned some machines off and guess who told me that I had machines turned off body, McBotface, body McBotface and AI and able telegram bot is here in studio with us today.
Welcome to the studio. Botting McBotface. I hear you have a joke for us.
Thank you, Botting McBotface and now a bite-sized Bitcoin. Well to begin with, what is Bitcoin, when bit 47?
A lot of people are familiar with lightning and liquid is effectively layer two, but 1-2-9. What is taproot? Children taproot? That's the first new protocol upgrade since Zagwet. Difficulty adjustment.
How do mnemonic seed words work? UTXO management.
Today's bite-sized Bitcoin is sponsored by FixRigs. FixRigs services all ASIC miners. When you send your machine in, you get an ultrasonic cleaning as well as a diagnostic opening machine from top to bottom.
They repair all ASIC machines and specialize in bit main and what's miners because, well, what else is the ratio? They don't repair anything though. You send it down to FixRigs, FixRigs.com, and they will fix it.
Like I think I have a toaster. You think we'll fix that? No, unless it's a rig, it says it very fucking clearly, toasting rig. It's like... Hey, you know, Schnitzel had a couple of wild ideas about an ASIC chip heated tea kettle.
He did not come up with a toaster though. I like it. Perhaps in the future, FixRigs will be fixing your ASIC chip heated tea kettle, and your ASIC chip toasted toaster. What a world it will be.
Our bite-sized Bitcoin this month is cost to mine by yours truly. In this instance, we will calculate a generic ASIC miner with the power usage of 3,200 watts. Now that we know the wattage, and since we know from our previous bite-sized Bitcoin on electricity, that power is the rate at which a certain quantity of work can be done
over a period of time. We multiply the wattage by time. Since we want to run the machine with a maximum uptime, the halving is always upon us, we will multiply by 24 hours. This gives us the power usage of 76.8 kilowatt hours per day.
For novelty's sake, that machine made approximately 2 quadrillion, 400 trillion shawt 256 hashes in one day. Now we can take that 24 hour usage number and multiply it by your power rate. Really a good rate in the US is 10 cents a kilowatt hour, so 76.8 kilowatt hours times
10 cents comes to $7.68 a day to run our generic miner at 100 tera-hash. Thanks for that John, that was riveting. You're welcome. The full clip of that is released already, it was the last episode that just came out.
And yeah, a very good one. Thanks for that mate. Why don't I just send you scripts and you put it in some AI voice. You're going to have Ian McKellan read it. What did you have the other time you were trying?
Ian McKellan crossed with Megatron from Transformers. That's brilliant. I thought so. Just a little bit, a couple notes on our cost of mine, it's like the easiest metric to figure out on whether you should mine or not.
How much you paying for electricity, what does your machine use in power? And that's going to tell you how much you can mine. And then you can go on linkcoin lens and figure out how many sats that's going to get you a day.
There's no questions after that. You've got to know cost of mine and it's an easy one to figure out. You know, this is the thing with Bite Size Bitcoins is just such a good way someone can jump in for five minutes and learn something that's useful.
That's the whole idea is that people can just listen to five minutes, ten minutes tops and actually come away with something that is useful, like actual knowledge. There's a couple interesting factoids on cost to mine in Japan.
It costs you three thousand seventy two yen a day to mine and that's twenty two bucks a day to mine on a hundred terra hash machine in the UK at twenty two pence and according to you, that's a pretty damn good rate.
Yeah, I think so. I think we're more like thirty or thirty five thirty okay thirty five. Well, at twenty two, so say you got grandfathered in at the twenty two pence rate kilowatt hour, that's going to be seventeen pounds a day.
In Norway, it's going to cost you a hundred and seventy croner or eleven dollars a day and South Africa has a South African brand and that's going to be twelve dollars a day. And Germany, what are you supposed to say about the Germans?
Sorry, Charlie. They fucked up. Size though, you fucked up. You fucked up. Yeah, you've got to be twenty nine year old day. So that's too bad for you, yeah? At the top of the leaderboards for how much money can I pay for my electricity bill?
Congrats. Congrats. Well done. Congrats German plebs. How much for the day? Twenty nine year old day. Nice. Yeah. Well done. Yeah, totally. For a machine that's going to get you six dollars and forty cents a day, but you might like do it.
Hey, you know those Germans are kind of innocent human stuff. That's true. Maybe they like it. A humiliation ritual. They have the ASIC whirring in one ear, just like fucking making their ears bleed while they watch the electricity meter just tick up and they go, "Oh yeah, I love it.
Oh yeah, give me more pay cuts. I can't get enough of it." So good. Sorry. You know what? You're not the invented bondage, right? Yeah. Antsmas, I'm so sorry. German fuck. Sorry, buddy. We actually know a lot of German loveies.
Yeah. We actually have some good friends there, Jim. So I'm so sorry. Sorry, guys. I know it though. That's the thing. They love it. Yeah. Speaking of cost to mine, cost to mine is not the only metric in figuring out whether you should mine or how much it's going to cost you to mine because cost to mine is your
power usage, multiplied by your electricity rate. But you're also going to have to fix and maintain and repair and clean these machines. And of course, fix rigs is willing to do that for you.
Yeah. Like these guys, they seem like proper down-to-earth, real Bitcoiners. You want to know if something goes wrong, you can send it to someone who's just going to fix it, send it back, charge you, done with none of the bullshit.
In our conversations with fix rigs, their back-and-forth communication with the customer really stood out to me. You're going to know what's going on with your machine the whole time that it's in there.
They're going to send it in, they're going to look the machine up and down, they're going to diagnose it, and then they're going to send you an estimate before it's repaired. That you're going to have to approve the repair first before they do anything.
And you can have constant communication with them via email or mobile device. The estimate includes any pictures detailing what's wrong with the machines and any notes from their technicians and what stage in the repair process that they're in.
Notify the customer. What a concept. And you can actually speak to them. Once they've repaired the machine and you pay the invoice, they'll ship the machine back out to you so you can get back to hashing.
Everything you want out of a repair shop, I think. Absolutely. And now, one thing I would say, they don't have a Botty McBot face and I think that should be something they think about. Fix rigs.
Get yourself a body-made-bot face. Yeah. The thing is, we have to be honest, we have to criticise where criticism is necessary and, you know, they need to step the fucking game up. But other than that, they're wonderful and we're very happy to work with them.
Although we're paid chills, we're also assholes. And that comes first and always will. We told the sponsor of that. Why should we work with the plebminer monthly? Well, basically, we're just complete cunts and we're like, "Ah, we like that."
We like that. Every complete cunt I've ever known is honest. And now, plebminer monthly action news. You'll address the source for news on the best wind mining scene, where you'll be a mining stance to give you the skinny to know how to scoop info you need to know.
He goes mad with new marketing insights. It's wind-based though, but everything must get up there. You're having a field firemiler and your actors match this side of it and John Deere. And now, plebminer monthly action news.
Yeah, plebminer monthly action news. Today's plebminer monthly action news is brought to you by Kaboom Racks. Visit Kaboom Racks, Alex. Visit the Kaboom Racks Telegram group at t.me/kaboomracks and kaboomracks.com.
Our first story, Barney Minor. He gets me every time. He actually has animals in his barn. Cheap chickens, goats, rabbits, S-19s, S-no. Don't you say that? He just broke an S-19. Oh, well, we know where to send that then.
Yeah? Fix rigs. First story on the docket, Maximilian von Bittenstein. We have a major Japanese utility that works with local hardware maker to capitalize on excess power with crypto mining.
Yeah, they said crypto. This is an article from CoinDesk. So if you'd heard the recent CoinDesk dust up with Klippenstein, yeah, from Swan. Corey Klipsen. Yeah, yes, that's it. The Klippenstein.
Klippenstein. You know what I mean. I can't read. This is a CoinDesk article, Tokyo Electric Power Grid, Tepukou, Tokyo, I actually do this in a Japanese accent, Tokyo Electric Power Grid, Tepukou, I lived in Japan, you know.
I can tell. Hi. Hi. So if you ever want to have a conversation with a Japanese person, all you have to do is go, "Hi." "Mmm, so, so, don't it." "Mmm, so, so, don't it." It means like, "Yeah, y'all I understand what you're saying." "Hi, yes." "So, don't know." "I don't know." I just say these.
I'd heard them say it. I don't know. I just say it. It just sounds good. This guy speaks Japanese. He's agreeing at everything that I say. And he's a fan of American. The soul. Soul. Tokyo Electric Power Grid, Tepukou, a major utility company in Japan, is working with
local mining rig manufacturer Triple One to capitalize on excess power on its grid. The utility has struggled to rebuild its business and reputation after, in 2011, an earthquake and tsunami struck nuclear reactors in Fukushima.
It was Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plants in Fukushima at the Marui up. Yeah. I was hailed at operating without proper risk controls. I like how they added that in there. They weren't proper risk controls.
You had a nuclear power plant and you didn't account for tsunamis. Come on. In 2012, the government later bought a 50.1 stake in the company. Tepukou formed a subsidiary called Agile Energy X aimed to create digital value out of the utility's excess power, including through cryptocurrency mining.
I just hate saying it. Yucky. Cryptos worse than cryptocurrency. Yeah. All right. I'll buy that. In September, it was. Two companies. It is worse. Crypto. What have you got in your crypto portfolio?
I've got... Fuck off. I've got Ripple. You like Ripple? I've got NFT. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding with Triple. A local hardware manufacturer developed distributed data centers through the country to capitalize on excess renewable energy.
That's the part of the story that I want to focus on is so they have solar panels or windmills or whatever excess renewable energy and they're saying, "Hey, let's get with this Triple One and do some cryptocurrency miner."
Right now, they're only doing it on 1.5 megawatts with 1,300 computers. I like it says in the article too, computers. They look a lot like mining rigs. I pulled a picture of it and it's kind of like, "Well, it's got a big fan on the back of it and they're about the size of what's a miner."
But who knows what the hell they're mining, but they're doing it and that brings up a greater discussion like, "Well, what does that mean for hashrate when utilities start mining Bitcoin?"
It will go down. Ah, no. No. That's the opposite. You got it wrong. Yeah. Hashrate is going to plummet. Yeah, I am going to have to disagree with your assessment, sir, but you know, at least when hashrate plummets, the security of the network goes up.
I need to explain Bitcoin to you. It's fine. Although there's just prints and more and then it'll bounce itself out. All right. That makes sense. I think you should testify for Congress here in America so you can help these senators understand about crypto currencies.
I'm available. To sum up Max, a Japanese utility mining crypto is going to increase overall hashrate, so you got that wrong. It's a possibility if all these utility companies get involved in the mining game.
That's going to be some interesting competition for pleb miners. That worries me a little bit. Sure. It's worrisome. I thought about it today that if all these utility companies get involved in mining, think about when a large company gets involved in something.
Their first inclination, I think, is to contract a lot of that stuff out and say like, "Listen, we have the facilities, we have the room, we'll co-locate a lot of this stuff." I think that's a possibility if they could invite small-scale miners and pleb miners in to co-locate in their facilities and just say, "Well, give us a cut of it."
Yeah, but it comes with all the regulation and KYC and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. That's the problem. It is a problem. But we will endure, we will survive, we will thrive like cockroaches.
Yeah, that's it. The next story on pleb miners monthly, action news, hashrate should be bouncing back after this next difficulty adjustment. Oh, brilliant. Yeah. This article is from hashrate index Colin Harper, he says, "Christmas is fast approaching
friends and old saying Nick brought us an early stalking stuff for last week with the largest downward difficulty." Yay, wasn't that great? The adjustment was a welcome reprieve from the brutal succession of positive difficulty adjustments we experienced late summer and fall, including a 9.26 adjustment.
And then a 13.5% adjustment on October 10th. And then he said, "But sorry, there's a big butt out here." Bitcoin's hashrate has almost recovered to all hot time high levels. This last adjustment kicked in.
So all the hashrate that came offline to necessitate last Monday's negative adjustment has been replaced/comeback online, meaning we're likely in for another hefty, I love that word, hefty positive adjustment in roughly a week.
Yay, and yang, y'all. Good. Yeah. That's what it is. Bring it on. Let's do it. Bitmain is going to be releasing a firmware upgrade, firmware upgrade that was probably in there all along on December 20th.
They are saying they're going to release a firmware upgrade that is going to take 29.5 joules per terra hash machines and drop them down to 25, maybe 25.5 joules per terra hash in efficiency.
It's pretty big. It is pretty big. Yeah, but when they don't tell you it's like, well, you're not going to get as much hash, it's just an increase in efficiency. So we don't know what your scoring hashrate is going to be after that.
And honestly, brains auto-tuning and finish, you can set these presets to get your pretty good efficiency. So you're basically just underclocking. Yeah. Oh, that's all of it. I thought you were still getting the same hash, but it was just more efficient.
Yeah, I would like if they were giving you a Christmas present. Happy Christmas and come into our secret back door. Yeah. You think they were German, the couple guys on Twitter had some good analysis of it.
You know, Kaboom Max Alex has been talking to his bit main guy. I think in some of these people are like, I got a guy. His bit main guy said bit main is apparently boosting the efficiency of S 19 pros with a firmware upgrade update.
They make my head spin. It makes you think about how much more efficiency you can get from firmware. And a couple of people had commented on his post and said, it could be a trap. It's a trap.
And it could be a trap to lock third party firmware. So imagine this and we don't know until the 20th, hey, I'm going to chase efficiency on these bit main machines and I'm going to upgrade this and guess what, now you want to load finish your brains on there and it doesn't work and you come.
They would do that. Mmm. I'd be interested to know it would be worth a bet on that. All right. I'll take you up on it. Say it won't. 100 cents. You're going to say it won? Yeah. 100 cents.
I'm going to say it will. I'll pay you one. That's a shit. That's how bets work, isn't it? No. No. Not in America, it ain't. All right. Yeah. I'll take it. I don't think they will either because I just don't know.
I just think it's too concierge. Everybody hates them as it is. Yeah. Well, I'll give you a hundred cents. All right. Thanks, bro. That's all right. Next on the list. We have our update from our man on the street.
Burn mander. I can't get it out of my house. I can't eat it. I keep saying it. I keep saying it just like around the house. Yeah. Well, that's going to be in my head forever now. What does a dog think of that?
I don't know. He ignores me most of the time. He hasn't been on a walk for a couple of days. He just side-eyes me. He looks at me like a complete prick and then looks the other way again.
That's how most of us look at you. Yes. He's got good instincts. The difference is I care when he does it. I love that dog. I don't care what he thinks. So, Barnbinder is a great man on the street because he is traveling the country, left and right, and he's been talking to a few boys.
He's another one. I know a guy. I know a guy. Yeah. And unfortunately, guys are turning off machines, closing down facilities. I'm not going to say getting rug pulled, but you could. Getting rug pulled by their electricity provider and say, "Hey, I got to raise rates."
He told me, "Hey, I got all these customers that I agreed at, you know, eight, nine cents a kilowatt hour, and I got to tell them now that it's 12 cents, who's going to agree to that?" Once again, shoulder to cry on.
Well, we joke about it, but like in reality, it's pretty shit for a lot of people right now. Like, you know, we like to fuck around, but I do feel sorry for people who are doing this and like it's the best way in, like it's the best way to get some KYC free sats and such
an interesting rabbit hole and there's so many interesting things to tinker with and it's a great space when it's good, but it's fucking brutal and it's bad. It's just about hanging in there, I guess, it's like it's difficult for people.
It is and in my life is going to change here in January when I have to renegotiate my electricity contract. Yeah, but I'm savvy, I will figure it out, I'll run some other scam, I'll do it, don't you worry about me.
I don't. But I would encourage others that if you're having a hard time now, they have this motivational poster of a cat hanging on to a tree branch and it says, "Hang in there." And it will help you.
You'll feel really down, you'll think, "I'm losing money every day, I'm just burning through this and will this ever end? I don't know if I can hang on anymore and you'll just look up at that poster."
And you'll think, "Firstly, we should have framed this and then secondly, I can continue. I will hang in there." I mean, if this cute little kitten can hang on to a branch, why can't I? Just turn the machines back on and when the price of Bitcoin goes up.
Yeah, there you go. You'll be fine. And if you're not, let us know. Thank you for listening to Pledmont Monthly, hang in there. Bitcoin base loads, energy market updates. That will probably be posted on Ungovernable Misfits here in the future.
He is still working on that, but he wanted to relate to everybody that you better understand the terms and conditions of your electricity supply contracts. It's extremely important, especially on the residential side.
Don't go ahead and build out this giant mining farm before you truly understand your terms and conditions with your electricity provider. Sound of us? I'd say so. Also, our buddy Tech Engineer had just posted something on Twitter, which I found pretty interesting.
And he says, "The latest generation Bitcoin miners are way overpriced." M iron miner. Relative to their efficiency improvement over previous gen, 1.4 times efficiency improvement does not warrant 2.5 times the cost.
And he breaks down a couple of them. You take an S19 JPro 110 terra hash with an efficiency of 30 joules per terra hash, or he's got watts per terra hash in here. That's going to cost you $18 a terra hash.
But then you have the S19 XP at 140 terra hash with an efficiency of 22, which is great. But it's going to cost you $42 per terra hash. Why would you pay for that machine? I don't get it.
And I think a lot of people are saying the same thing. Why would you buy these newest gen machines? Good question. You reckon there's sometimes people buy newer machines to say they have newer machines.
Like I know people who buy new car, brand new car every year. Unnecessarily often the same car because it's new and it has a new plate. It has a new plate. So they buy that. Oh, it's a new plate.
Like, you fucking idiot. But they do it. Maybe is it the same thing? It's like, oh, I've got the XP. I mean, it could be like the institutional miners are doing it. And it is essentially like the same fiat mindset.
Mm. New. Better. It's actually friendly. Yeah. We can put that on our website. Our next article is from Nico Smid. What a great guy Nico Smid is. I just want to say that real quick. This is from Nico Smid's sub stack.
That's Nico Smid S-M-I-D.substack.com. And he speaks about, what does he speak about? I don't know. I went to the wrong article. Gold Rush inventory. Shake out. Rebalancing. It's a cycle of Bitcoin mining.
And this article is titled News and Insights Contagion All Around. I love the word contagion. Mm. Is nice. Will it trigger a miner shake out? And let's kind of understanding what miner shake out is.
He describes Bitcoin mining cycles. In earlier newsletters, I discussed the Bitcoin mining cycles. Last time was in the newsletter at the beginning of August. In that period, Bitcoin price started to move towards the $25,000 level.
And hash rate was recovering from the summer capitulation. Looking at the four phases of the mining cycles, it seemed like the market was moving from the shake out phase to the rebalancing phase.
And he explains these different phases. You've got the mining gold rush phase. I like that one. Price goes up and hash rate goes up. If you've got the inventory flush, price goes down and hash rate continues up.
You've got the shake out phase. Price goes down and hash rate goes down. In the rebalancing phase, price recovers upwards and hash rate recovers upwards. And so he says, so looking at the Bitcoin mining cycle theory, where do we stand now?
Unfortunately, oh, come on, Nico, unfortunately, Bitcoin price continued on its downward trajectory. As of the second half of August, in the same timeframe, hash rate did not look back and grew over 80 X a hash in a matter of four months, what a wacky time.
In the beginning of August, it seemed like the mining cycle was moving toward the final phase. Looking back now, and of course, hindsight is 2020, as we know, looking back now might have to conclude something else, one, the minor capitulation during the summer was just a bump in the upward trajectory of hash rate.
The price recovery after the Luna crash seemed like a lifetime ago, doesn't it? The price recovery after the Luna crash in June was just a counter trend move in a downward trajectory. If this holds true, it means we have been in the inventory flush phase ever since November last year.
It's a long time. And the real shakeout is yet to come. Look forward to that then, plebs. Yeah, price goes down and hash rate goes down. So I maybe we did look forward to make out. Maybe we do.
Yeah, maybe we do. You're right. Maybe we take that. When mining super cycle, not soon enough. This has been pleb minor monthly action news. Bam, what an outro. Dramatics really good.
You've nailed that one, mate. Hey, thanks, brother. We have some holdover giveaways, you know, from pleb minor month. It's true. Operation device is passport still to give away. And we also need to report on the Ronan dojo cabuto that was given away.
How long was that? A couple of weeks ago. Oh, I know. Yeah. 10 years ago. Yeah. It feels like it, doesn't it? I don't know. With the 3D printed pleb minor skull, that was fucking cool. Ah, that was cool.
That was like, when I saw that one, I was like, yup, that's it. Yeah. I wanted one of those kiddoshi lots of FOMO, is that it? Kiddoshi lots of FOMO. That's like an at-morning mushroom breakfast.
And his partner, Ken Zeezy, created the pleb minor 3D skull Ronan dojo, bakuto, node, build, holder thing. Yeah. And it was awesome. Yeah. Well deserved. Can we put a link in the show notes so that people can check that out on Twitter?
Yes, I will do that. Thank you. And foundation devices passport that I had not yet given away. So big thank you to foundation devices for the two passports that they gave away. And we are going to reveal the winner.
Do you want to do the clip that they put? They have to do this. Yeah, let's play it. Let's play it. I won't tell you who made the clip. I'll just play the clip. I don't like that word means you don't think for lack of a better term, it doesn't matter at all who wrote mining for the streets two and a half years ago.
It's completely irrelevant at this point. Because as cool as it was at a time or as good of a guy as it was or whatever, it could not matter less. It's almost like who Satoshi is. And I'm not comparing myself to Satoshi before that gets out there.
I'm saying, it's almost irrelevant, it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter, it's here now. And you've got other people that have taken this thing on and they're taking it to levels that I didn't expect, I didn't anticipate any of this.
So to see, you know, econicalists and then you get guys like John on here and this whole group of people of just misfit characters that just all come together around this one thing and collectively the knowledge that is possessed within that group is immense.
It's amazing. And so everybody that listens or partakes in this month long event, everybody is going to be able to come away with something and that's what's important. I think so and like you say, like even if it's just giving the nudge and pointing people
in the right direction and inspiring people, I mean, econicalists, obviously we've mentioned them a couple of times on this pot. Every time that I speak to him, every time that he's come on this podcast, he says, I wouldn't have done what I've done without diverter.
And econicalists is, I mean, he's fucking mind blowing the stuff that puts out the end. So that's the end. That was a clip by Bon, of course, I think that was the first episode that you had aired for plug minor month was your diverter interview.
So Bon, congratulations, mate. I promise we didn't choose you just because you sent us sats. We did really. Yeah, totally. But if we whisper it, nobody will notice. Value for value, thanks, mate.
It pays to play, but seriously, diverter, what a fucking legend. It was such a good way to kick that off. And yes, he likened himself to Satoshi, but outside of that, he's such a humble guy and gives so much to people and so fucking helpful.
So yeah, can't think of a better way to kick it off and thank you, Bon, for sharing. No doubt. Next up on plug minor monthly, we have our pleb and the wild. Oh, before we do that, yeah, fuck that up before we do that, Bon, you have to just reach out and DM me and I'll send you the code and then you can go on to foundation and get
your passport. Can I continue the show now? Uh, yes. Yes. Today, we have the privilege of observing the elusive and often misunderstood pleb minor. If you listen closely, you will hear the unmistakable sound of its mating call.
To others, the sound is offensive, but to the pleb, it's a rousing beyond measure. These creatures survive by scouring the earth for energy and scavenging hashrate from others whose over exuberance cost them dearly.
The pleb minor may not be at the top of the food chain, but make no mistake. Its ingenuity, scrappy nature and unquenchable thirst for sats make it a force to be reckoned with. Attenborough there, I can't believe we got him to do that.
I can, he's a fucking big fan of the show mate. Ah, he's been trying to get on for a long time, I just said listen bitch, you're doing too much of the climate stuff, just stay in your lane.
It's not been such a greeny weeny, but yeah, obviously he's stepped up to the plate and done that and thank you very much mate. Pleb minor in the wild is sponsored by Peach Bitcoin. Yeah, I'm very, very happy about this one, not only because friends of ours are involved
in running it, but also because it is a much needed desperate, you need people to be buying KOC3. We also need it to be easy enough and slick enough to help match buyers and sellers and I think Peach are doing this particularly well, so we are very, very happy to have them on
board and for people who are in the position where they have to sell some sats unfortunately, then at least you can use something like Peach, it is simple and also you generally tend to get a few percentage on top than you would if you were selling to a cuck to KYC exchange, so that's nice at least.
I don't mean to laugh during your talk about Peach, but it's true though. You've used them right as your experience been, my user experience is excellent, especially now that there are more people on the beta and they'll be releasing out of beta and I guess that's not a software developer, but would you say it's alpha is next?
It's one of those two, alpha, beta, gamma, zeta. I have used Peach Bitcoin, it is a pleasure, it is easy, there's nothing really to figure out. If you are a plebminer and a wild plebminer and a plebminer in the wild, lately it's just kind of the name of the game, you gotta do something to survive, you gotta do something
to keep these machines on, especially after high electricity bills. You go on Peach, you put a bid on there, you say I want to sell 100,000 sats for X amount over market price or you can even go under market price and wouldn't you know somebody is going to take that off for lickety split.
It's very easy to use, it's simple UX, you can chat with the potential bidder, can't recommend it enough, especially if you're a European pleb. We've covered it a couple of times on Bitcoin monthly, Q&A's used it as well and was very impressed.
Yeah, I've only heard good things, as I say we know them well, so give us feedback, anyone who jumps in and uses it but very, very happy to be working with them. Our plebminer in the wild, this episode is dia bit, is on twitter @bitdia, d-a-y-a, and here's the interview.
Hey dia. Hey John, how are you today? Good, I'm doing good. Good. You know my first introduction to you and your project was sometime around last summer. You were asking a lot of questions on twitter about how I'm heating with miners, you're planning on constructing a new home and wanting to integrate Bitcoin mining and he captured
into it. Right now I'm reading from your medium entry, that's medium.com @m-u-r-t-i-d-i-d-a-y-a, and the title of the article is starting my Bitcoin immersion journey. Am I crazy? Probably a psychopath.
After imagining spending thousands of dollars on electrical bills just to heat our plant pool in the house we are starting to build, I could not take the idea of using the wasted heat of the ASICs out of my hand.
So tell us a little bit about your mining setup. Well I'm kind of still in the experimentation phase I guess, and I have one S19 pro, one of them 10 tera hashes and I have two S9s. So I mean basically I came from more theory about Bitcoin and I always thought miners
is like some genius people that I would never be a miner, but then I got into the, I saw some, I think a French company or someone making a bowler out of the ASICs. So I was like if I, if I'm ever going to build my own house I'm going to check it out and I'll actually, we just started building our house.
So I said let's do it and I, I just said I will do it in my stages. So first thing I got an S9, just I knew it's not profitable and electric bills are really expensive here. So I just needed to see that I can connect to the internet and I can use a, choose a pool
and see that it's working and I see that it's hashing and I see how loud it is and how noisy it is. And it was just the, just to see step one that I can mine, like lose money but mine. So I did it, then second step I said okay now let's move to immersion.
So I got the C1 books or immersion kit or whatever they call it for my fall cash. And I got the S19 Pro and yeah, I think there was, I mean to work then there was some leak, leakages and then I, I mean they were really nice, Dr. Danda had me like a, you know, titanate
and now it's, it's working well and it's like, you know, it's kind of not profitable, like, I guess it's like, it's very funny because if you, you know, if the price goes to around $20,000 then it becomes profitable so it's like, so it's more like, okay, let's, let's mine.
So this is not always a matter of what is profitable but when it's profitable. Yeah. And also, you know, I think it depends on your business but if you edit the electrical expenses on your business and you don't plan to sell the Bitcoin anytime soon.
So it can kind of be a profit, you know, you can sell much that after you don't pay because of it. Anyway, this is like a setup I was doing just to figure out that, you know, the immersion because it was so weird for me just to, to pour liquid on electrical, a very expensive
hardware but then I did it and after, by the time I did it, I saw so many YouTubes doing it so it was already feeling natural kind of. So your setup is, is a fog hashing C1 with an S19 110 and you have, from the fog hashing machine goes out to a dry cooler, how far away is the dry cooler from the, the container itself?
It's pretty close to the window. So it's like, I mean, one and a half to me, there's, I mean, it is, is that the only machine you're, you're currently running. Yeah, currently it's the only machine I have, so for me this was step two to see immersion is possible.
Now I have here, like I'm trying, because it was so expensive, all this, you know, especially the shipping and the taxi and all of this, I think it's from China. So it was very expensive.
So I said, let's, let's try to do a DIY version and so now I'm experimenting with the S9 and it's like, it's so hard for so long I'm getting all the different parts and the pumps and the connectors and all this and, and by the time, like a few days ago, I felt all finally the less part arrived, but then I saw the, the pump is not working.
So now I'm ordering another pump and I hope to, to finish it soon. So because it's starting to get cold here. So I want to really just to use it as a heat up. All this, this thinking that you have been doing throughout these warm months, it's time to put it to the test.
Yeah. Yeah. And now, like the, I just learned that if you put the S9 about around 900 watts, then it's not so loud. So people get up, that's a comfortable zone there, about 900 watts. Yeah, but it's really much, you know, why it doesn't make noise.
So I, I know it's not really working with the fan so much, but I'm trying to do it again immersion. I have already in the liquid here sitting in my living room and all the, especially silent fans and all of this.
I plan, if it succeeds, I plan to do another thread, you know, with all the links because I was like trying to figure out if someone with no background can do it and I see how difficult it is because also, and a lot of people are trying to help, but it's like,
I really want just a simple list by this, do this, like, I don't have to think so much, but yeah, so I'm figuring it out, but because it's so complicated, I guess I will use the C1 from Fogesh to, to hit the pool and planning.
So I guess it would just require heat exchanger and the pump and the pipes more or less. And from what I understand that somebody made this a guest in the other day to use a titanium plate heat exchanger rather than the normal bronze plate heat exchanger because the pool
chemicals will eat away the inside of it and you'll, you'll mix the two fluids together. Yeah, yeah, it's probably going to investigate and so I'm not going to use so much chemicals for the water, but yeah, it's a time to work on it for hopefully next summer or next winter.
Yeah. So when you first decided to begin your mining journey, what were your motivations behind doing that? Well, as I said, it was like in the back of my mind for a few months because I was writing a big piece on the Bitcoin analogy and I noticed people are doing this starting to do it and
then we were in a pretty cold area for Israel, like, not the, not that cold, but for us, it's called trend and we are, as I said, we are building the house, so we decided to make a warm pool somewhere, you know, to look at the view and being hot water and I couldn't stop thinking of like, you know, I want it to be heated all the time.
I want to like get out at night or whenever I want and in the morning and just be in the water and in salt, I don't want to like wait until it's heated and turn it on and off. Well, that sounds nice.
It's about 30 something degrees here today, so I can appreciate that. Yeah, so this was just like what I'm going to pay, like, like, I don't know how many hundreds of dollars every month just to keep my pool heated.
It was like, it didn't make sense and but then, yeah, this idea, you know, it just feels like, if I can even kind of break even in the fiatoms, then it would make sense to keep the pool heated all the time and then have people over and feel like, yeah, enjoy the pool.
I don't care. Enjoy it as much as you want. Yeah. Absorb all the heat you like. Yeah. Let me cool the apnea. So your first motivation was to heat your pool. Do you intend on doing any other heat capture for the house, radiant floor heat or anything like that?
I think, I mean, I just imagine I would play with each, it's fun, actually, so I would probably just keep on playing with it. I thought to do underfloor heating, but now, I mean, we're not planning it anymore.
It's too expensive. So I would probably use whatever hardware I have and I have two S9s, so we'll probably experiment with them as long as they're working and if I see something is working well and heating well, maybe I will upgrade to something, the new assets that are coming out are probably
much more profitable and interesting to use, but I would first see that it's working. So I don't have specific plans on how to do it. Just now I'm experimenting here. If it works, I'll probably move it to the next house.
But I think for me, the pool is probably the biggest goal at the moment and also I think it's, I mean, I'm not really focused on it, but I think, I mean, I talk to some agriculture ist, I don't want to call it like some people that use big pools that they need to eat for
agriculture, fish or whatever they're doing and so I think once I, the achievement of heating a pool, then it would be interesting to talk with a few people that are kind of open to it and they are hitting all the time spending tons of money just to eat the pools.
So I haven't done all the calculations because I know there are other effective ways that don't involve hashing to hit these days, but yeah, so I'm mostly focused on the water. It's not that cold here for long periods of time, so it, you know, I would have to dissipate
a lot of hits and it's already very hot most of the year, so it's more, most likely focused on the water. Yeah. I'm just doing. If you haven't looked into yet a heat core recently, hashing to heating an eye attended an event there at a facility in Central Pennsylvania where what's minor and heat core had a dual
presentation where they use the what's minor M53 water cooled units and pipe it to a number of different applications, but one of them was a hydroponic garden. For industrial purposes, it certainly, they seem to have figured it all out and worked out a lot of the kinks.
It was very impressive. Yeah, yeah. I actually wrote a slide about them. I talked to them. It was really, it seems like the best product, but it was really expensive and again with the toxic, the input toxic and shipping, it was like really, we didn't think any sense anything.
Yeah, on a small scale, it doesn't make sense. And it's only three phase power. Yeah, but on the yesterday, I feel, what's minor for the first time they make like actually Essex for immersion with the firmware and everything, so it would be also interesting.
I think it was like 220 terahashes for small Essex, so. It's nice to see these, especially what's minor, reaching out to people and small scale minors and finding out what they want, rather than just providing to the market.
Here you go. Here's your option. Yeah, this is actually the, I mean, what brought me to it, so it was, yeah, mostly financial thinking how to hit my pool, but behind this is really the ideology of wanting to get part of a movement that I know if, if a mate would be profitable, then many people can start
mining at home hitting their pool, their homes, their whatever, and decentralizing the network. It would be really, it feels like more, you know, being part of the movement, being part of the revolution, not just watching it from the side or even, you know, just huddling or something.
It's like a, it's an active participant rather than a bystander. So you have to be resourceful being a small scale minor, which are your budgets limited. Your wife doesn't want to spend too much money on all this mining stuff.
Notice she probably doesn't want to spend too much time on all this mining stuff. What are some of the largest challenges that you've come across? For me, I guess it's mostly technical. I mean, now I do, you know, try to figure out how to connect with the pump and it's like a disconnector.
I've never done any electrical work, you know, so I find a friend that has knowledge and to cut the cables and connect them. It's like really, yeah, technical issues, figuring out what size of hoses and connectors, everything is like really, really, there's no, you know, manuscript already, my step is guiding us how to do it.
So it's really, sometimes I just, I mean, like I said, need to wait a lot of time just to get like one small piece and there's no way around here. I went to all the stores for, you know, innovations and all this and there's nothing, there's no, no parts that I need are so specific, like this specific silicon tubes or connectors
or like only from Amazon or on Express, so it's always the wait for this. And yeah, I guess this is the biggest challenge, now my S9 didn't work, stopped working, so I talked to a couple of Max and I don't know to check it and to take out one hashboard at a time to see which one making the, making it know to work.
So, yeah, it's technical issues, but it's really, like I'm learning, it's good. So you have technical issues, you have skill gaps and you're not necessarily a plumber or an electrician. Yeah, and finding these strange parts and going to the hardware store and say, hey,
I got a fog hashing C1 and I need a new inlet tube, can you, can you hand that to me off the shelf? Yeah, yeah, it's all the, the smaller issues with the hardware and understanding all this firmware also and took me a while, you know, figuring out the SD card with more size and
nobody had the small SD cards, only the big ones and the big ones that didn't work, yeah, okay stuff. Yeah, at the beginning I was more like into, like trying to rush it, but then I saw no way.
So, now I'm just taking it easy, yeah, I have a lifetime, I figured out. I know a lot of miners right now that are turning off machines because of electricity price, it's challenging to keep them running, you got to be resilient, how are you keeping things going right now?
Yeah, right. What are you doing to keep the machines running? Again, it's a really small scale, so it's like, you know, if I look at it theater and so it's like, I don't know what, losing, I didn't even calculate these days, but losing $1 a day, if, you know, if you look at it that way, but then if you are DCIing anyway
and if you want K-Y-C or non-K-Y-C Bitcoins and if you calculate the, you know, the fees that they take if you buy from exchanges and stuff like this, so I don't think it's that big of a difference, you know, and again, because it's most cases, of course, if it was losing,
I don't know, a hundred bucks a day, it's hard to stay resilient on the unconditioned. So, it's not like I'm doing it now for, like, I'm a miner, I'm going to profit for mining, it's not the idea.
It is like just experimenting and seeing if I can, you know, save some of my, because of the electricity is so high, so I'm saying, I want, I want the heat, so maybe it gets some, some of my expenses back in Bitcoin, so, like, it's kind of different way of thinking
and it's, I'm not even thinking of how to, you know, earn more in fiat terms for every fiat I pay for the electricity, but it's more like, anyway, I'm going to pay for the electricity. Can I get some Bitcoin back, please?
That's my goal. Yeah. So, for now, yeah, it's running, I can, I can think about how many dollars I'm losing, but it's not much and, you know, you've transcended the fiat mindset. So, from time to time, yeah, I don't really forget about it, I just, I mean, it shows
me, I think, I don't remember in brands, sometimes it shows me in dollars and sun, in the app, I think it just shows you in the, so, don't even know if you look from the app, I think you don't even know how many.
Yeah, you can, like, go and hover over the, the number of sets earned and, and it'll translate into dollars, but, yeah, just don't, just don't hover over it with your mouse and you can already think about it in terms of that.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, next blue market to hover. There you go. So, the title of the show is plebminer monthly. What's your definition of a plebminer?
Plebminer. I never thought about it really, but, you know, I'm not, you know, make it English, so pleb is not a really familiar word for me, like, what comes to my mind is, like, um, grasp of this word, like, many, many, like, many people really, you know, maintaining
this network and, and what I see in, in, in, instead of many plebminers, then if the day will come and, you know, the big boys, it controls the things, you know, the governments and all this stuff that they use on the regulation to take over all the big mining facilities
and companies and they, I don't know, they do some, something to the network, then there would be still the original network running because of all these people around the world, you know, hitting their own or using whatever green energy they have or, I don't know, how
they manage to keep it running, but, but this is the, what comes to my mind. Or the little guys, the last line of defense. Yeah. Yeah, this is the, actually the real pulse, you know, maybe some tumors of, uh, big corporations with, like, this is the, the life of, of this network, the pure energy, yeah.
The plebminer is the life of the network, the pure energy. Yeah, that's what comes to my mind now. I appreciate you being the, uh, this month's plebminer in the wild. Thank you for having me.
I hope, uh, in a year we can talk and, uh, I have some, some reach after sure. I look forward to it. Plebminer in the wild is awesome, mate. What I particularly like is we're getting to see what's really happening.
There's so much, like, in the new, so much bullshit and just these huge corporations and warehouse miners and I like to see what people are doing, like, real plebs are doing. People who are building stuff in the garage, people who are building things out and being creative.
And I think that's really important that someone sheds light on that. Obviously we did it for the whole month and, uh, we'll be doing it next year as well. But yeah, shed a little bit light every single month just to find a new pleb with a new story.
What was the most interesting part of this conversation for you? What I appreciated about Diabet was that he shared his successes and failures and he continues to share his successes and failures on Twitter.
You know, recently he's got an immersion set up, uh, he bought a fog hashing C one, which is kind of like an all in one unit. You just put like one S 19 in there. It's got a pump and it's got pipes out to a dry cooler and, you know, he put it in their backwards at first, you know, so he's got, he's got a video of like, oh shit, I put this
thing in backwards. Let me flip it around. So he recorded a video of it. He's got videos of him completely breaking down a machine and cleaning it up. He is trying to do something a little different with his own immersion setup and his pump went bad.
So he, he shares that with everybody on Twitter and, and in different videos and saying, hey, my pump went bad and boy is sure a learning experience, uh, having to learn all these different crafts.
So I appreciate his, his honesty and his openness about his successes and failures and, and attempting to do this home heating setup and, and trying to heat his pool. So kudos to you, Diabet.
Yeah, that's so important. I think, uh, we need more of that in the space. People just being honest and emitting the, we're not all fucking geniuses. You get everything right every single time because, um, I don't think that incentivizes people to continue, like, if, if no one ever admits their faults, then you always feel
like the retard in the room. And when someone just says, ah, yeah, fuck this up. You're like, okay. You know what I mean? It just makes things feel a little bit more, um, bit more real and we'll fuck up.
I mean, obviously you don't, but everybody else. Yeah. I fuck up a lot. Just to let you know, in case you hadn't noticed, if you didn't listen to the plebminer month finale, max will let you know what a fuck up I am.
Yeah. Anything else from, uh, plebminer in the wild that stood out to you? To prepare for the interview, I, I went to, um, diabits medium, uh, page and did a little bit of research on the guy and he writes on there, am I crazy?
Probably a psychopath and I read that interview after imagining spending thousands of dollars on electrical bills just to heat our plan pool. So it's like the guy admits he's a little off doesn't that typify every plebminer.
And it's like, well, aren't I, am I a psychopath? I don't know. My friends and family and my wife thinks I'm a psychopath. Uh, okay, I'm going to, I'm going to own it. So maybe my, the thing that stood out most was the fact that, that, uh, diabit owns the fact that he's a psychopath.
I like it. He owns his shit and the fact he's a psychopath. That's my kind of going truly an ungovernable misfit. Tip Max, we have completed our first episode of plebminer monthly. Is that it?
Just thanks for listening. Who got anything else to say? Anything interesting? Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Okay. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Definitely not. I'll just be soppy for a minute then and just say a huge thank you to everyone in the plebminer monthly group, everyone who was involved from the star, all the sponsors who
involved from the star, we wouldn't be here without you. We wouldn't be here without everyone who's been pestering us to do the show and I really appreciate it. It's fucking cool just to be able to lean on these people and get information from them.
And there's some really, really smart people in that group and yeah, it's very nice to just be able to reach out and ask them questions. So I don't spend a huge amount of time in that group.
I wish I had more time in there, but every time I do, I learn something and I just really hope that this show helps to spread that information to everyone listening and again, a huge thank you to the sponsors who allow us to make the show and hopefully continue to improve the
show and anyone who has any questions or wants to reach out, they can go to John because I'm not going to deal with any requests. And that's it. Appreciate your listening. [laughs]
